Damn my butchered up kid didn't make it. Needed ~40 total stitches+casts+dressings, and got through about half of it before dying.
What killed him? I've never had a dwarf die in the hospital without suffering a broken neck or bruised lungs or something else that couldn't be fixed.

A zombie camel threw a goblin by his ear of a cliff! Hilarious.

Not sure I just saw a message he'd died. How do I find out COD?

Was it just the "Found dead" message or did someone witness it? What kind of injuries did he have? A dwarf with a broken neck can't be helped but will often be brought into the hospital before they die. It takes longer to bleed out so it's possible he had a cut throat or some other serious bloody injury that the dwarves didn't give priority.

Found dead. Don't remember exactly, half his body was broken really. I thought immediately he was a goner, but he survived for so long =(

I have a child population explosion. 58 dwarfs after the first migration in the second year, 26 of the migrants were children. I lost one child to a Giant Bushtit that attacked the group that were just standing around at the edge of the map since I didn't have enough workers to get a meeting hall made.

My fortress just got 39 immigrants, including a miner so old that he saw the beginning of the world O.o It's 122 years ago, but still...

Also, half of immigrants are kids :v

I've set the world mineral scarcity a bit low and am now relieved to find three layers of rock that are unlikely to hold any metals. I have one level made up, so far of 50% magnetite, with hematite on the level below.

My ~45 level pump stack was approaching completion. I was busy building the walls to keep it safe. What happens? Goblin siege, with trolls. Where do they appear? About 10 tiles from my pump stack. No prizes for guessing what transpired.

Probably my first experience of just how evil DF is.

The only positive is that my 3 soldiers killed the entire siege without a wound.

Apparently the animals in my fortress aren't getting along.  The horses and bulls have been wrestling a lot lately but nothing serious, just mild bruising.  Just now though, they went all out on a pet sheep, knocking her teeth out and tearing off two of her hooves.  Jeez.

Give them more room.

I get Dwarves' pets fighting on busy stairwells because too many creatures are on the same tile. The Red-C spam is annoying.

Alright, current fort:
We're going down fellows of The Confident Staff! Magma is the way to go to get rid of all this magnetite, hematite, limonite, gold, oh, and some sphalerite and galena too..... Keep your eyes open for any flux, alright?

Right now my fort is in the middle of a damned inquisition. Two vampires where discovered and dealt with, one seems to keep escaping thanks to my incredibly lax Hammerdwarf. So far the body count is up to 7.

Oh gods. 15 giant mosquitoes. Maybe i oould tame them as I ran noexotics. But they are entirely uninterested in coming to my fortress, even with puppies as bait next to the entry.

AND ADD THAT TEN KEA MEN AGAIN. Oh gods.
