While keeping a few war animals who had earned names thanks to killing some hostiles, a whole lot of butchering was done for the majority of war paindeers and war sidehoppers in order to pave way for the new generation of guard animals, metroids!

They're so adorable.

During exploratory mining, a vein containing cast amounts of limonite and lignite were discovered. These are being excated, which will (with the limestone as flux) allow Limulunnos to clothe practically everyone in steel.

Mixmod? I gotta get back into that, just for the sheer Fun involved. On another note, things are going well in my fort. The local undead wildlife is not much of a problem. Surface fort, terrifying forest. The werewolves and ogres have only claimed a couple people, and then gotten axed to death. The goblins should be more of a challenge, especially with the mods I've done.

"A section of the cavern has collapsed!"

 :o

I haven't unpaused yet, but it appears that I've punched a hole through the bottom of a river.  Right over the meeting area.  I hope my masons are fast!

After getting tired of having no where to sleep my now new bone carver went into a fey mood and made her self a bed from raptor man bone.

This is a raptor man bone bed. All craftsdwarfship is of highest quality. It is encrusted with graphite, studded with copper, and encircled with bands of sheep wool, phyllite, copper, and ash. On the item is an image of Xane Roserip the raptor woman and Fath Carrydiamond the dwarf in raptor man bone. Fath Carrydiamond is striking down Xane Roserip. The artwork relates to the killing of the raptor woman Xane Roserip by the dwarf Fath Carrydiamond in the Connected Hills in the early spring. on the item is a image of the raptor woman in raptor man bone.
38400* dwarfbucks not bad for a  bone item.

Beware raptors my bone carvers are itching for more raptor bone items now.

I tried to wall it off but it broke in too fast, luckily one of my axedwarves caught him on the stairs, they exchanged blows and both died, the resulting blaze also killed every animal in my fortress except one bunny (he missed with a fireball I guess) so my meat and yarn sources are gone... at least I only lost one dwarf though, her only friend is unhappy (other axe-dwarf) but she should get over it.
This is an interesting embark, above ground I have a constant stream of zombie badgers, and zombie badger women (and only one zombie badger man so far, out of like 5 waves of the women), and the caverns have crocodiles wandering on land, bats chasing yaks, and now two forgotten beasts, one a giant bird that made all my dwarves eyes rot out, and one made of fire -.- (and both had trunks, oddly enough) there is no safe area here :P I have 10 full coffins, and I've been here less than two years (including both pre- and post- reclaim)

one time i had a similar beast break in

basically, every hit it suffered severed a body part. If you'd gotten your marksmen ready in time, it wouldnt have gotten far

Jam a door with its corpse and let all the goblins in. Hey, nobody said it had to be a weapon against your enemies.

No marksdwarves yet, he showed up shortly after the first migrant wave before the 1st caravan even popped up, I only had a few axedwarves.

Second Goblin siege. They've already sent their General at me.
He died.

There was an awesome little mace-battle between a mace-lord and my High Gore, also wielding a mace. The High Gore won, but with the help of a friend, although she could have taken the mace lord alone, it seemed. She was later surrounded and killed, along with about four others of the ten-beast squad. Replacements have been found.

Two Borioth distinguished themselves and have been granted titles, and both have taken high ranking military positions.

Yay! The cavern lake is successfully blocked and no longer drains off the other side of the map. Welcome back FPS.

Who did I send to perform the risky cave-in operation? The guy that used three pieces of raw adamantine to decorate a wooden earring. Screw him.

Excavations for my first megaprogect are ongoing. Turns out, assigning over a thousand squares to be channeled takes a damn long time. Especially when you're going down 14 z levels for it. It also eats up a surprisingly high amount of fps.

It is worth it for the great lake I am making. They called me mad, but I'll show them! AHAHAHAHACK HACK COUGH HA!

That really describes any programming.

Aaand Tut has gone Beserk. The most skilled fighter in the fort was possessed, I thought he would just lapse into depression, but no.
He kills a spaniel and a mastiff. Luckily he was then mobbed by my surprisingly fast acting military and beaten into the ground, with nothing but a bruised leg to give in return. Well, at least he has a Tomb.

i need more migrants.
having a reclaimed fortress of old 180 dorfs is a mess. things scattered EVERYWHERE.
luckily the adamantine stuff is all inside.
as soon as they finish moving the stuff inside i might consider letting them go out for the rest. they are 71 dorf right now (and in TWO YEARS from when i started i still haven't finished cleaning the map) i suppose if it falls agains, it will be when the last dorf will put the last out of place item into it's bin.

“Do something!” she whispered, trying to keep her sight on all of them at once.
Basileus clapped his hands once. The Forgotten took a step forward, attracted by the sound.
“There, I did something. I clapped. I like clapping,” he said. -The Investigator And The Case Of The Missing Brain.
