Grizzly bear walked into a house and started eating the occupants. I didn't really see that coming at all... also a ghost punched someone's leg clean off. That was also unexpected.

Stupid merchant, I don't know why you hung around until you went berserk!

no way off the map?

Jam a door with its corpse and let all the goblins in. Hey, nobody said it had to be a weapon against your enemies.

Actually from what I recall, only he and a bodyguard lingered behind at the very top of the map for no reason. It was odd. I know it wasn't tied to the liason being there, as I've had that guy hang around for almost a year because the leader is too busy doing work to have a meeting...

We just beat off two ambushes, several snatchers and a forgotten beast. One injury, which is an injured hand. Thankfully the dwarf will fight again.

A child lost his mother and brother to the ambushers and started a fight. He punched an engineer, failing to injure him, then punched an elephant who turned on him and gutted him right there. D:

Praise the mountainhomes! Some migrants have arrived, despite the danger. TWENTY TWO MIGRANTS! Hooray! We need fresh hands to replace the 70 odd killed since the Siege of Blades two years ago.

Arile Sethevaci Nifinafi, a.k.a. Arile Packglacier the Bejeweled Taker, has come to Bridgegate! Arile is a Zombie Roc, a bird of prey so large and ferocious it dwarfs many dragons. All beneath its mighty wings should fear the sky.

Fearing the sky, I ordered the dwarves to the panic room. I then realized that I don't have a way to lock flyers out, so I prayed to Armok that Arile would help remove my excess surface grazing livestock while I order some basic defences to be built.

Then, nothing.

Arile is still sitting at the edge of the map. I viewed her wounds and saw she was mostly yellow, with one eye and some organs being cyan.
I ordered military to station nearby, but by the time they got there, Arile had hopped the outer wall and was flying in circles, out of reach of the squad.

I repositioned the squad so they could hide amongst the livestock so they could back up my crossbowdwarf. Once they were in position, I sent my crossbowdwarf, who happens to be the duke, out to 'negotiate' with the roc. Five shots later, Arile is no more. Because she was just a zombie, no record of this kill was recorded.

An engraver was arrested for failing to make crystal glass. Almost immediately afterward the mayor had a Secretive mood, which he failed due to lack of the right glass... And went insane. :P

Badgers.... i small pack of them came through my budding fort. only casualty was a rooster. My carpenter almost got mangled... I mangaged to get my axedwarf in a militia but do I just attack them like normal?

ffs though the badger chased my carpenter halfway to the downstairs section. jesus fuck.

Blast, a siege... the Goblin General has shown up. The last siege was an utter disaster even though we had nearly thirty militia, now we have EIGHT... Cage traps may be cheaty but they're helping us cling on... There appears to be one squad of nine speargoblins, all mounted either on cave crocs or VCCs, with the General leading them. A squad of eleven unmounted lashers, led by an elite macegoblin.

Ugh, at least this isn't the siege of 49 goblins + 49 mounts + trolls that caused Zalisiden so much pain. 22 goblins + 10 mounts isn't going to be *as* painful :/

Two ballista dwarves have been ordered to help.

[EDIT: Make that 22 Goblins, ten mounts and seven trolls...]
[EDITEDIT: Make that ten trolls of which three got captured and seven killed]
[EDITEDITEDIT: Seventeen crossbowmen showed up. This is swiftly getting insane.]

DAMN IT! The squad ignored a station order and rampaged out to meet the force. They slew a good few of the crossbowgoblins and seriously injured a hammer lord, then promptly got caught in a massive, very smart pincer movement between three squads at once. An axedwarf entered a martial trance, got five kills, then died. Zaneg found herself at the mercy of twenty at once and was struck down. Zalisiden looks like it will fall, the military is obliterated and the day is lost. If the bridge had been rebuilt by Urist McArchitect when I ordered him to a YEAR ago, we would've merely waited this out.

All able bodied dwarves with even slight skill have been drafted.

The siege has just about annihilated us. Though, interestingly, the coating of forgotten beast blood on most dwarves is beginning to affect some goblins, who have begun to fall asleep and rot slightly. :P We have barely ten adults able to fight, and our Stray Baron (tame) was killed despite fighting valiantly.

The siege is not yet broken. There is still two speargoblins, two voracious cave crawlers and a cave croc roaming about. Our population is 9. Two adults. Seven children. The mayor and the criminal. The mayor is unable to move due to severed nerves in both legs... The criminal will defend himself but he is unable to move from his tether.
The children are rampaging, some throwing themselves at the invaders, some merely smashing things up.

first off, try to use the modify button, top right of your post, instead of double or triple posting

An engraver was arrested for failing to make crystal glass. Almost immediately afterward the mayor had a Secretive mood, which he failed due to lack of the right glass... And went insane. :P

funnier is, you cant even make crystal glass, the only way to get the "raw glass" is from traders
