One punch, eh? Was it made from liquid/gas?

Do creatures made of liquid/gas even have a brain, or organs for that matter ?

I have seen many skull cave-ins in goblins and smaller creatures, but generally nothing as badass as killing a FB with one punch to the brain. It probably is possible though, with a very strong dwarf.

Probably. And FBs made of liquids/gases are weak as hell. I've heard of a novice miner killing one with a crappy pick.

It said nothing about what it was able, only that it was a scorpion with three tail and poisonous bite. Yeah, the dwarf was super strong from 1 year and a half of sparring. The fort crumbled during a joint attack from goblins and nightwing :( 25 bow is a lot of arrow.

BLARG!!! i hate my dwarves...they keep taking wood crafting moods, and they keep making stupid instruments, only useful artifact they've made was a mule bone coffin

and one of my miners caused a cave in, and he's been resting for a while now...finally got a traction bench for them, and now it only says his hand is smashed open -.-;; he's been sutured repeatedly too

So this fort is in a world with mineral scarcity 2000 - so my One Metal is Zinc with some tiny pockets of Tin around too. That's fine, I embarked on a desert to guarantee sand and magma is always guaranteed no matter what. My unarmoured militia with bronze weapons are kicking a lot of goblin head (yes, it's annoying that half their kills are from kicking and not with weapon attacks) including this siege that sprung on me. Thing is, they're stationed 8 z-levels below the surface and surrounded by upright spikes. Goblins obey the "dodge me" trapwalk and they are in no shape to fight back when they meet my soldiers.

I even have a statue of a dog killing one of those goblins. Naturally, it's placed at the entrance to the "dodge me" gauntlet, right next to the statue "of a goblin falling".

Congrats, Psieye. This is the first time I've seen a derailed thread get put back on the rails.

Nice. Showing them what's going to happen before it happens.

On Topic:

Corrosion mod, fortress two:

Figured out I can make four wood blocks from one log, so less wood is needed. More buildings for Reliefsmoothness! (Really messed up there, RNG)

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

1. Danger room?

2. Hammers are good against armored foes, hence the name canopener. swords/axes do better against unarmored foes. Were they armored?

Well then, that's why the hammers didn't do so well.

Oh dear Lord, that backfired!

After attempting to stop the out of control breeding of my dogs by using them as ballista target practice, I realized I would have to take them out using a cave-in. It worked spectacularly, killing somewhere between 20 and 30 of them in one second. It also collapsed the ground under them, which was right above my fortress. Some poor dwarf got the rudest awakening ever, and was crushed to death under a pile of rocks and dead dogs.

Funny, though.

Wait, when did nightwings start working with the mobile metal sources?

My tame GDS wrestled an iron long sword away from a goblin.

Shit just got real.
