Right. Then a FB will lure them all out with a pair of adamantium socks, right into the line of traps.

Well provided they don't fall asleep or feel faint on the giant, serrated discs I think they'll be quite all right.  So far all I've seen is some Draltha in the distance, whatever they are.  Wiki says they aren't hostile so I can probably ignore them.

WRONG!!! In DF, EVERYTHING wants to kill you. It doesn't matter how they do it. They just all hate you.

Forest fires have left my cage traps armed with globs of lead, instead of lead cages. I'm curious to find out what will happen when they get triggered.
please tell when you find out.

Just noticed my military commander having a liking to bismuth AFTER he gave a mandate on it. I had to resort to DFReveal to locate some.

EDIT:

Tigermen creeping onto my fort. I think the idea of them opening cages for their friends worse then outright avoid traps.

EDIT2:
Spoiler:  It got worse (click to show/hide)

My fort has only 50 z-levels to work with. Wow. I didn't even change any z-levels or caverns.

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

I'm on my third year and the goblin snatchers are just starting to figure out i live here. it won't be long before they bring their homeboys. the drawbridge is still not finished and im not even sure i get how to make it open and close anyways. my soldiers are many and decently equipped, so i think we'll be ok either way. I've started work on some giant serrated steel discs, so i kinda almost hope they DO get in...

mine typically have 15z above the magma sea. I appreciate the extra fps.

I appreciate it too, but usually there's 150 z-levels.

My fort of Jawanvil was very hard to save, at least with the way I limited my population (I hate managing too many people). Although it didn't produce more than one good artifact, I'm quite proud of the nice walled-off area and bright green roads. I imagine them being very impressive in the world.

Instead of retaking the fort again (and dealing with all the ghosts and all the crap lying around), I've decided to find a new embark instead. This is on the edge of the Dune of Ankles and the Jungle of Couples. This should be interesting.

No! No! I will not massacre my children. Instead, I'll make them corpulent on crappy mass-produced quarry bush biscuits and questionably grown mushroom alcohol, and then send them into the military when they turn 12...

Well... That was dissapointing. I was digging down to find some magma, like usual. I struck adamantine in my exploratory passage. YAARRGGHH!!! WHY!!!

EDIT : Using DFReveal, I found out I've got at least three safe levels!

Counsilmined has just dealt with another seige. no casualtys, heavy troll and goblin losses.

the interesting thing is: the goblins turned on their war leader. seems they wernt very impressed with how things had been going against this fortress in the northern wastes. The trap tunnel defeated even their master soldiers as it caused them to dodge so often they collapses from exaughstion. even their iron armour cant protect them from every nick of the blades.

of other note: the local hammer dwarfs have taken up the sport of skull crushing during the clean up. one hit, one kill for 10 points. -1 point for every hit after that. The winning dwarf got a fancy rose gold statue in their room for their own pleasure.

Shortest flying forgotten beast fight ever.  He rushed my dwarves in my trap corridor, my macedwarf shattered his wing so he fell onto my favorite trap that has a serrated disc, axe blade, spear, spiked ball, and menacing spike on it  Snail biscuits for all!
