I actually don't have any single idea for the moment. If anyone in particular want's to tie backstories with Arti specifically then I have something to work with but otherwise I'll just pair up with whoever doesn't get a partner. Although, I do have a preference for Irony's Character if only for the funny mental image.

I did a quick MS Paint mock up of the heraldry that Ella wears, because I got bored and went on a Wikipedia dive into the world of coats of arms and heraldry.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It's her father's escutcheon, the shield part of the coat of arms, but altered with a fir twig, the little romuvan-esque symbol, symbolizing that she's the fourth daughter. The reason it's lozenge shaped is because the shape is reserved mostly for women, since they didn't go to war in medieval Europe, they weren't associated with shields. Luckily, Skyrim has our back on maintaining realism and historical accuracy in a world where both men and women go to war regularly. :P

I'll post the sheet by today, I thought myth weave saved it but there was a problem and I'm having to do it again.

Been distracted lately, will try to pick out a feat and get my sheet into the fancy format sometime soon.

Taking opinions on what feat to take, incidentally. :P

Improved Initiative is always good.

I'd say anything that lets you tank/heal better.

Also, I don't know if you saw but I was interested in tying together Backstories with you.

I would actually focus on the tanking more than the healing. I can heal like a cleric, and while some extra healing is nice, I feel that tanking/damage mitigation is better. We have three melee characters, so some way to keep attacks off of the striker would be really helpful.

Right, right. Giant scoundrel and tiny paladin make an amusing duo, especially as one's implied to be more pragmatic and the other... isn't. I suspect kobolds might not be a routinely civilized race, so odds are decent that Kikrik wandered out of the hills somewhere and has been catching raised eyebrows every since.

Off the top of my head, Kikrik could be keeping Artemesia out of trouble, Artemesia could be using Kikrik as a shield or credibility piece, Kikrik could be relying on Artemesia to navigate "civilized" lands with less difficulty, or they might have more symmetrical business with each other. Taking out a (rival) gang, intercepting stolen merchandise (to return it to its rightful owners), convincing the local magistrate that the prisons are absolutely deplorable (and unfit for rehabilitation)(and I'm probably going to be staying there eventually), etc.

Otherwise, we've got an honorable but strong-willed human warlord of noble birth, an eladrin feylock following his lord's vague orders, and a mystery eladrin wizard.

Kikrik and Ella have some justice-related similarities they could potentially bond over. Both could also have a range of business with Artemesia, or vice versa. Either's enough of a wandering oddity to possibly catch Yanlias' attention. Our mystery wizard's backstory still isn't up, so he's the only one without any obvious hooks.

Armor of Bahamut appears to be my only real option for that; it lets me turn a crit into a regular hit on an ally within range once per encounter. Improved initiative also indirectly helps, since it lets me grab something's attention earlier at the very beginning of combat. Other than that, Skill Focus (Diplomacy) is a serious contender; of the feats I qualify for and could receive legitimate potential benefits from, not many are very appealing (charge damage/distance buffs seems pretty useless, for instance).

So I guess the question is "how useful would you find being immune to crits?"

Why not tie together all three?  :P

One: Pallies in 4e are really just mostly tanks, with a little bit of healing/controlling on the side. Definitely get whatever helps you tank better first, and then go for heals. Honestly, having played a 4e Paladin before, I was mostly using my heals on myself, because I was tanking that much.

Two: Please tell me the Kobold is a Paladin of Bahamut.

Three: Caroline, since I assume you're going to be sharing story notes with me, and since I know your internet access can be even more limited than mine at times, do I have your permission to DM in your absence?

[mathmetagaming]Well, hmm. We'll probably be hit on rolls of 11-20, so 50% of attacks hit. 10% of those hits will be criticals, for essentially double damage. That means that crits make up ~18% of damage. Cutting that in half certainly is nice.
We, have a total of (50+122+72+74+67=) 385 HP available through HP and healing surges, so a protecting ~9% of it would give us another ~35 HP, and then another ~2 HP a level. I think that's a good investment.[/mathmetagaming]

Why not tie together all three?  :P
I'm down. The only requirement I have is that Ella stays in Norethra until she's 16. Everything else is open to adjustment.

Sounds good to me. Easy to get now that I think on this line of events. Since Ki and Art are locals (probably, I think) they could easily have met a bit before our most noble lady of war. Art would have always been a urchin as far back as she remembers, stealing and rough housing to get her daily bread turning into mugging and robbery for food and profit. Eventually she gets caught by Ki and after some fast talk convinces the paladin that she's just doing everything for her boss who she can't refuse because of his power, so they reach an agreement and Art leaves with Art to adventure and right wrongs or something. Which leads into meeting Ella

Or something. Kind of tired.
