The grenade Julio hurled bounced once on the tarmac before it exploded, shredding a drone. The shrapnel thudded into the other machine, sending sparks spraying like an angle-grinder. It dropped lower for a moment before rising back up.

The nimble machine dodged all the incoming fire that came it's way, almost lazily skipping past the roaring rounds of Crazy and Pierre. It charged an energy bolt, and the sizzling orange bolt spat towards Julio.

While one only blew smoking craters out of the road, the other was more accurate - Julio could only grit his teeth and try not to scream as the scorching incandescence of the enemy weapons washed over him. Wounded but alive, he was about to try to scramble back when more shapes came out of the dark.

Another pair of sectoids and a hovering robot emerged from the dark. One of the diminutive grey aliens took cover behind the crates with its fellow alien, the other behind one of the revolving canisters. Like the robots before it, the drone drifted forward without visible propulsion.

Pierre and John both take shots at their targets. They're difficult shots, but the SAS training they went through proves its worth and both barrages of bullets strike true. As a result, the drone explodes and the sectoid hisses in pain, gravely hurt but not dead yet.
