((Erm...is this still on?))
I'm still here. But we've only had two action posts from ten players since the last update. I'll process those two, but players need to post actions.
Turn Update
Purchase a spare credstick for communal use, and load all the communal funds onto it.
Taricus purchases a credstick for 10cr. However, as the communal funds are presently in BFEL's possession, transferring them onto the new credstick will require either his cooperation or possibly a club and a dark alley. And BFEL. He seems to not be on the ship at the moment.
Check if anyone needs cargo thrown at Ryloth
Dr. BFEL wanders the hangar in search of people looking for cargo couriers. After asking a few random people and getting mostly shrugs and annoyed looks, he spies a sign that reads
"Need a drink? Stop by Mos Eisley Cantina at the main terminal. Happy Hour from 20:00 to 22:00"Well, it's not happy hour. But it's a lead.
The music is surprisingly upbeat for how sleazy the place looks. Still, figuring it's worth a try, he approaches the bartender, busily wiping the bar.
BFEL:
"Hey."Bartender:
"What'll you have?"BFEL:
"Cargo transport to Ryloth."Bartender:
"Oh, you have somethin' that needs to get there? Yeah, I might know some pilots for hire."BFEL:
"No, I'm headed to Ryloth and looking for some side business."Bartender:
"Oh, aspiring smuggler, are you? Heh. Get in line. Now, if you're not orderin' anything, I've got paying customers to attend you."He turns away and resumes wiping the bar. You consider maybe buying a drink to get him to talk, but it's probably not that simple. If this were a notorious smugglers hangout, which it is, an obvious contact like the bartender probably has connections who've already agreed to pay finders fees.
You turn and glance around the bar. Probably quite a few of the people sitting around sipping drinks are smugglers themselves, waiting for business to present itself. As the newcomer, breaking into that line of work is probably more difficult than simply showing up and hoping to find somebody looking to hire the new guy rather than all the veterans standing around.
Disappointed, you head for the door and leave. Not twenty feet outside, you hear a voice behind you.
Hooded figure:
"Excuse me."BFEL:
"Can I help you?"The man quickly glances both ways, then pulls a small device from his pocket, holds it up and turns it on.
Hooded figure:
"We have about 40 seconds of privacy. I overheard you're headed to Ryloth."BFEL:
"You have cargo to transport?"Hooded figure:
"Yes. Me."BFEL:
"Oh. Well, if you want to get to Ryloth we can probably arrange that."Hooded figure:
"I don't care where you're going. I just need to get off-world immediately. If you can get me to your ship undetected and off planet, I'll pay you 70 credits."BFEL:
"That's not very much. Not even enough to pay for fuel for the trip."Hooded figure:
"You said you're making the trip anyway. It's all profit."BFEL:
"Also, you sound like you're in some sort of trouble."Hooded figure:
"Let's just say that there are some Imperials who'd kill to have a word with me."
What do you do?
