The Fortress of One and An Army of Undead
« on: May 20, 2015, 10:42:28 pm »

I decided to start a fortress in a haunted area with an aquifer.
Long story short, my 6 dwarves are dead and i have one dwarf left:
He has a farm
Some supplies salvaged from the wagon
The aquifer is 2 layers down so no stone
A masonry
A carpenters workshop
No wood
And a horde of undead outside the fortress chilling near my wagon.
He is one of my 3 starter miners

What should I do? other than quit of course.

Forget your troubles and Love the Zombie Troll. Dig to an area that is "clear" of undead. If the land freezes, build a pit, and wait for it to freeze. If not, try to breach the aquifer "safely". I remember that saying: "Where there is a pick, there is a way".

You can't make an omelette without melting a few dwarves...
The purple overseer hat weights heavily on one's head. Some would argue that the leadership of Doomforest is uneasy to bear for too long. Others would simply suggest that we don't craft the next overseer hat out of rutile.
