The old packing plant burns beautifully. The Firemen had done their job well, suppressing the burgeoning printing press operating out of it. The haunted screams of its operators emanate from inside as they are burned alive. The few survivors of the blaze are gunned down by the assault rifles of the Death Squad. Those passing by dare not express any interest in the proceedings, fearful of being branded thoughtcriminals by the omnipresent Ministry of Love. As you watch, unable to tear yourself away, a man, burned flesh dripping from their ruined face, arm-drags himself towards you. The Death Squad turn their guns on him, peppering him with bullets. As the last life fades from his eyes, the man looks you in the eye and speaks, voice a gurgling whisper:

It is not too late. You can still change the future. Remember this. _{Remember me.}

The badly burned man convulses, silently crying for their mother, and dies.

You wake up, gasping from the vivid dream. In that moment, reeling from your horrific vision of the future, a lifetime's worth of oppression by the Conservatives crystallizes into rebellion. You WILL change the world and bring Liberalism to this forsaken country. That much is certain. But other things are less so. You can only faintly remember your childhood

Alright, this will be a playthrough of Liberal Crime Squad version 4.07.0. This will be a sort of odd hybrid between a LP and a Suggestion Game. Participants will vote on the general course of action of the Founder and may get a character named after them. You may more directly decide what "your" character does, within reason[EG:I, Arcvasti, want my character to be an androgynous hippie computer hacker with high Int].

You remember now, details of your life trickling back to you like tears.

You were born in 1984, the day the Macintosh was introduced.

When you were bad as a child, you were beaten by your father and thus learned to take a punch earlier then most.

In elementary school, you were unruly and often fought with the other children.

When you turned 10, your parents divorced acrimoniously. You remember once tripping over the paperwork.

In junior high school you played school in the grunge band. You sucked, but so did life.

Things were getting really bad when you went to live with your dad. He had been in Nam and he still drank.

You knew it had reached a crescendo when you stole a cop car when you were only 14 and went to juvie for 6 months.

When you were 15, you ran away and volunteered for a left-wing candidate.

Through dubiously legal methods, you managed to acquire secret maps for several major buildings downtown by your 18th birthday.

Now, you are a violent criminal. Nothing can change you. Or get in your way.

This is the only way. Or else the reality you saw in your dream will come to pass. But how will you be known to the people? Your birth name is flawed, imperfect. It is time to choose a new name.

That name is Eshimokol.

Your gang is readily converted into something greater. They lack conviction for the true Liberal purpose, but they are still armed and useful.

With the birth of the Liberal Crime Squad, a host of new questions arise:

What shall be our slogan, with which we will strike fear into the Conservative masses?

Without a proper slogan, no one will respect the Liberal Crime Squad.

Where should the Liberal Crime Squad be based?

While the Rosenburg St. Crackhouse currently suffices, there are also an Abandoned Cement Factory and an Abandoned Building Site nearby that could prove suitable bases. You suppose you could also technically rent an Apartment, but you are currrently strapped for funds. The Homeless Shelter is always an option, albeit a terrible one.

What should be the first real move of the Liberal Crime Squad?

While your gang is powerful enough to rule the slums, they cannot fight the government alone. At least, not directly. You would need either far more squadmembers with more Juice and better equipment to rival that of the Conservative menace. There are also many less brutally violent options, although they are less fun.

Split off the wanted ops into a separate squad and send them off to the Building Site - will keep the heat off the rest for now when either of the two squads act. Use the wanted guys to assassinate some reasonably easy Conservative targets like lone Corporate Managers or the like - DON'T go against cops just yet. The other squad should go Activize a bit.

It is a good plan.  Your gang members suck statwise (highest agility is 4, they're going to die in their first foot chase).  Once they have 50 heat, they should recruit better people, preferably teenagers for their high agility.  They should start trying to recruit now to build up their persuasion.

You decide to send the wanted members of your gang to the Building Site, so they don't lead the cops to you. The Liberal Crime Squad proper begins engaging in Community Service, so as to raise the negative Juice of your gang members up to a more tolerable level.

Meanwhile, your Overheated Operatives, the squad of criminals, chat up some hippies to get better at recruiting.



They're pretty terrible at it. They persevere though, and after maybe a month and a half, both of them are acceptable at Persuasion.



This needs to be stopped. The Conservatives creep ever closer to victory. Now that they're decent at recruiting, the Overheated Operatives are sent to the most hideous bastion of Conservative thought:

The Cable News Station.

The proud Liberals stride up to the door, weapons in hand... And find it locked. And neither of them knows how to pick locks. Damn. They return to the Abandoned Building Site and lie low a day. After much planning, they eventually sally forth to the Court House, another Conservative stronghold. There, they wander around outside until they can find an important and unguarded Conservative. Finally, they do:



The Hangin Judge goes down after two shots from each Liberal and the Overheated Operatives skedaddle, accidentally leaving behind their victims stuff in their rush to abscond.

With these development, several major questions arise:

What will be our slogan, with which we strike fear into Conservative hearts?

What should the Liberal Crime Squad proper do, now that their Juice is no longer negative?

Which targets should our Overheated Operatives strike next? Should they train their skills more before leaping into the fray again?

Overheated Ops will be a nice base to form the self-spreading Liberalnese Liberalnation Army (slogan: You dun got Liberal'd!). Train a LCS operative in Seduction by Acquisition->say, Army Veteran and dating them over and over and over, and send one OO op to prostitute themselves.

LCS one will be the one to take care of low-profile honeytrapping, OO one will be the Combat Stripper for kidnapping soldiers and the like.

Actually, if it's possible, have all LCS squad members get themselves a romantic partner in form of a Janitor in some kind of operations-relevant place - Police Station, CIA, you know the drill - and sleeperify them.
