An Empath trying to read their output emotions would find it difficult due to the radiated emotions being eaten, however the person in question would not have any change to their emotional state. Although in some cases I might use the emotions to get them out of bad mindsets. Negative emotions are common. Good ones are less so. Therefore, nudging people, usually through psychoanalyzing them based on the tasted emotions generally gets them into better mindsets.
