No arguing. Weird. Possibly because the guy was going down the same track he'd been on.

He closes his eyes, and lets out a breath, becoming unnaturally still. This is about the point he'd normally start to draw on his Malice to practice... well, not going into a blind rage, but it's kinda not a good idea to do that with anyone else around.

Darren shrugs and tries to do as ... Dana? says. It takes him a while to summon the appropriate emotions - getting happy or sad or angry on demand is difficult - but in the end it seems that really only anger or aggressive emotions help him not break the objects when he touches them. Contempt, anger, etc, all work pretty much equally well.

Now how do I maintain that all the time without becoming an asshole?

((Oh hey, something related to Torimus. He's only half an asshole and has to do exactly that!))

The guy ((named Sensei for convience)) begins by placing a chair in front of Torimus and sits down. He then places a teapot, full of tea on Torimus's head, so its just balancing. He then begins to read and whistle.

As Torimus handles this well, Sensei removes the teapot and places a pile of plates, then the teapot. He starts to play music along with him whistling.

Not much of a distraction. He's used to worse. The weight is something, but nothing next to the weight that pushes down on damn near everything when his abilities start manifesting.

Torimus doesn't move, but a sudden sense of inexplicable weight begins to pulse outward through the room, though without the indistinct, lotus-shaped swirls of Malice he displayed within the training room back at school.

James steps up to the plate pulling out his sword.
"You wouldn't be adverse to me using it sharply right."

Pandora takes her stance, not even bothering to wipe of Madi's blood, "If you want to. Prepare yourself."

James puts his sword up in a defensive gesture before gesturing in a 'come at me' way.

Thomas would feel a sudden breeze hitting him and Madi, and he wasn't the one controlling it.

Torimus doesn't move, but a sudden sense of inexplicable weight begins to pulse outward through the room, though without the indistinct, lotus-shaped swirls of Malice he displayed within the training room back at school.

The Sensei feels this weight, but does not budge. He removes the plates and teapot. He then makes Torimus bend forward, and places a stack of 4 gold bars on his back, then places a television in front of Torimus, and switches it on to static.

Pandora dashes towards James.

When Pandora gets about five feet away James slides to the side and sticks his foot out.

The repositioning is a bit of a pain, as is the increased weight... gold is heavy, but the static actually helps, given that it's literally white noise, and there isn't anything actually chaotic going on to break his concentration. This kind of thing isn't much worse than just living for him, honestly, and he's been doing this since as long as he remembers. It's mostly in situations where there are a lot of chaotic variables and ever-changing focus points that he tends to lose control. Combat, for example.

The pressure is starting to get a little more... uneven, though, fluctuating, especially with the increased weight.

[Pandora:8+Misfortune vs James:8] Pandora, seeing James start to move, takes into a dive, sailing over his outstretched leg. She rolls into a crouched position, turning to James and waiting for his next action.

Sensei changes the channel to a very flashy and sporadic childrens show. He begins to breathe down Torimus's neck.

Both make the unevenness of the pressure increase slightly, before it starts to even out again, his breathing slowing slightly for a few seconds before he simply... loses focus, the weight around him suddenly becoming wild and chaotic before the world seems to right itself, the weight vanishing, Tor letting out a gasp.
