Ether focuses his many eye lasers on disintegrating his arm, and forms a psychic bubble shield.

The metal bubbles a bit but holds firm, however it can not get past the shield.

Ether stops firing his lasers and instead sends a psychic saw blade into the golems head. Ether is begining to tire.

It's head is cleaved off, but the body continues it's assault as a tar-like substance spouts from the head.

Ether fires his lasers at the substance, and also heating them, in a hope to ignite the substance.

The fish seems to be made of condensed souls. It appears mostly like an angler fish, but bleach white in color, with the "hook" at the end being black.

There is a steel coffin that managed to escape the blast behind where the golem was, and a winding hallway back into the labyrinth.

Plutarch leans against the wall, slowly jotting down a series of notes. They are structured as a series of indented bullet points, with points indented below a point indicating elaborations or implications. The points and arrangements are as follows:

  • Some magic is based on concepts and semantics that can be subject to equivocation. Perhaps the hatred causes spirits to become irrational and push the limits of their abilities?
    
    • Why does it empower all spirits of the dead? Does that mean that magic is semantic in nature?

  • Worst possibility.
    
    • Little meaning. Causing aggression and enhancing certain capabilities are arbitrary effects with potentially little to no actual relationship.

I admit, it could have been worded better. Additionally, I would not categorize that as berating. That was an honest assessment of their current skills. They can all use improvement, and as of now, none of them is worthy of being called Mage. They all show promise, However, should they ally themselves.

"I have insufficient data to formulate theories. Instead, I wish to make two inquiries. Firstly, is all magic semantic in nature? That is, able to be altered through equivocation and interpretation? Secondly, I recall that you mentioned that the importance of runes is their meaning, and that therefore words can be used as such. Does that mean that by associating a certain symbol with a non-native meaning, one could use it as a rune? Furthermore, does the rune have to be observable? That is, if you know that the rune is there, even though you cannot see, hear, or touch it, are you able to use it?"
