Fred and Derek start warming up their instruments rather inconspicuously. Fred is trying out a few notes, and the sound comes out clearly.

That's a good sign.

Trude licks the honey off her finger and seals the jar, before going to where the sound comes from. Trude finds Yuri.
Oh, it's him.
"Hello Yuri."

The duo actually start putting their instruments again, having seen each other and confirmed the other was playing an instrument.

Fred walks nowhere in particular, still clutching his trumpet. There are several runes carved artfully onto the surface of the instrument.

Derek does the same. He has a similarly carved saxophone.

He thinks for a moment. "Hm. I will speak with Eve. Verbal abuse is not in the staff doctrine." Despite the words being perfectly calm, you get the feeling that if he does find that she has in fact been verbally abusing and otherwise putting down students, he will be angry. Very angry indeed. At the same time, if he finds nothing wrong, the matter will be kept in mind, but dropped for the moment.
