Darren hasn't really piped up yet, mainly looking around the room at all the various people either introducing themselves or chatting amongst themselves.
He was kinda tempted to think of that Malice guy as an arrogant jackass before recalling that he was rooming with the guy. Might as well make it pleasant and not insult him in class.

His hands, wrapped in bulky gloves, fidget mostly on the desk with each other; he studiously avoids actually touching anything.

Selina looks at the cat slowly, then flips to a new page and begins drawing the cat.

She notes in place of a normal collar, he's wearing a ring of Buddhist prayer beads around his neck.

Selina works to draw the beads carefully as well, getting as much detail from the scene while quietly continuing her work.
