He sighs, lifting his hands to rest his head on them, instead. "Alright, talk. What's on your mind? If we're going to be working together, you're going to have to be forthright about stuff like that. It's enough for me to be upset all the time, can't have too much or the building will implode."

"It's the whole reason I came here. I found the ways of the chaos realm to be barbaric. I came to earth as it seemed like a good opportunity to learn about human customs, so I can eventually fit in. I was also exiled because they didn't like that I disapproved of their ways. I'm sort of also here to prove that just because I'm a beholder, doesn't mean that I'm a jerk."

"Well in my travels to other realms, I had heard that this earth is the most docile one, even with all the wars and stuff. Some earths are just completely barren. And I picked earth because it's culture is highly developed compared to other realms."

"Let's see. I'm going to try to find out why I can't seem to pick up on your fear. I'm going to have to touch you."

Derek's arm begins moving towards Ether's.

Derek's arm begins moving towards Ether's.

Ether pulls his arm back.

"I would prefer that you didn't, as it would reveal that part of my illusion, maybe even more. It varies with the power of the entity or physical contact. But you may touch my forehead, as it is my most powerful psychic area, and the illusion is strongest there. I shall tell you now however, there is not much I fear, and the things i do, are hidden under very tight security."
