Mimu smiles and takes out 3 baggies. One contains some flat green candies shaped like pine trees that are slightly minty, the next having a couple dozen yellow beans which smell of lemon, and the last has several cut squares of milk chocolate.

To clarify, the shield is about half the size of her hand. The front is a little rough-looking, but the edges are mostly clean.

Ether picks a couple of the lemon candies and plops them in his mouth.
"Mmmm! This is quite delicious. Now I shall show you a trick of mine." He grabs a pebble, and transmutes it into the same yellow candy. "You see, I can transmute things into other things I have seen or made physical contact with before. It's a pretty cool power. I can also do that except instead of changing objects, I change myself. Watch." Ether quickly morphs his fingers into cats and back again. "Cool, right? I cannot morph into other living people yet however, as I am not proficient enough. This is actually the body of a person I ate when I was in another realm. I have left that life behind. That's why I came here. To start anew."

"I've been practicing ever since I discovered it. As for what I'm doing now, writing is no big deal. It's a little rough, if you'll look closer."
Indeed, the writing looks somewhat crude, if not hastily scrawled.
"But yeah, it's the practice that does it. This is about as detailed as I can get things easily at the moment."
The shield finished, she waits around ten seconds.

Ether shrugs.
"I do not know. My race is just born with laser-shooting capabilities. By the way, this is what my true form looks like." Ether reaches into his robe and hands Mimu a photo of a purpleish-black scale covered head, the size of a small boulder, with one huge eye that takes up most of the face, and a gaping mouth. He has no nose or ears. There are a multitude of tentacles with eyes on the end sprouting from his body. "Please do not be frightened."
