Shortly after Aulus turns around he hears strange noises. They last about a minute before turning into loud footfalls.
Here's your warning, sir!
Ethon suddenly roars, extremely loudly and almost directly behind Aulus.

Fred was sitting on top of his bunk in a meditative stance. He got off and got out of this stance, plodding over to his table.
