"So, where do we go from here, mon ami?"

Perry points down.
"The colony is a sixty-kilometer shaft dug into an vein of... stuff. It's not really a mineral because it's alive, but it's not really alive... We called it Morn after the Dawn probe that discovered it circa 2015. It didn't make the news for long since we didn't know about its growth properties until way later in the 2400's when we got a lab here on Ceres. It's actually a secret that we discovered it rather than inventing it, but I trust you could probably read my mind anyway given that you are a real, flying, space breathing magic frenchie.

The crystal makes up the logic crystal network which hosts the Ghosts. I am a Ghost, but my body is made up of its own self-sufficient logic material, a highly-experimental substrate made from mixing Morn with some other substance they invented at Avalon. That's Neptune, in case you haven't noticed the cloud cities.

We can get inside the colony through those gaps in the launchtree bark. Though I don't think either of us have authentication."

Roll 26
Spoiler: Starmap (click to show/hide)

((Note that italicized words in your character sheets can be hovered over for additional info))

Alexandreus (Yourmaster)

"But to commit to something, it does not matter how much you care about something, but for how much work you have put to it."

The words from the figure convey a sense of disappointment and irritation.
"What is that supposed to mean? I am asking what you are planning to do my mana."

"I am a kenosis of the Wind God Nariel. He and I are one, and yet not the same. You may call me Phanuel."
The being, with angelic grace, swoops down to ground level while still talking.
"You seek the Ichor of Gods. To what end do you commit that which you seek?"

Your Inventory:
Hurricane in a Bottle
Chromatic Staff (Unique spells that are multicast cost 25% less affinity that turn.)
Lesser Mana Potion (x27) (Consume to negate 1 point of negative affinity in a stat for one turn)
Greater Mana Potion (x3) (Consume to negate 10 points of negative affinity in a stat for one turn)
Antimatter Catalyst (x5)

Michel (Pancaek)

"So, where do we go from here, mon ami?"

Perry points down.

Greater Mana Potion (x3) (Consume to negate 10 points of negative affinity in a stat for one turn)
Seeking Dust (x5)

Spoiler: Michel (Pancaek) (click to show/hide)

Resteroth (Coolrune206)

"Very well. Naira Adverio, Resteroth follow. Resteroth take to man-bat-thing."

You return, strange wizard in tow, to the maintainence hall. You notice Tafaw hasn't followed you. She had a really annoying habit of following you on footsteps so light thta even you could not hear it.

On the way to the engine bloc, you notice the maintainence robots have activated, and are roaming around. They seem indifferent to you, except that when you move near them they automatically step out of the way.

Man-bat-thing greets you, as does Tafaw.

Your Inventory:
Space-Sword (Radioactive, will break if you roll a 3 or less)
Masks (A set of masks used to express yourself. You can modify sound waves and visual stimulus coming through.)
Lesser Mana Potion (x27) (Consume to negate 1 point of negative affinity in a stat for one turn)
Greater Mana Potion (x3) (Consume to negate 10 points of negative affinity in a stat for one turn)
Antimatter Catalyst (x10)

Naira Adverio (H4zardZ1)

"Follow you? Okay."

You enter a room laced with strange vine-like growths and pods, stepping carefully. There is a rather skinny being in a spacesuit crouching next to one of the pods and vines. The vines seem to be changing as she brings her hand near.

From behind a large plate (it probably sealed the reactor beforehand, but it seems that it's been opened) steps a human in a dark cloak. He is tall and skinny, with a pale face and deep, inset eyes.

"I greet you all! As you can see, this has been the ground of my own bioreplication research for quite some time. Outside you may have seen the inoperative remnants of a mechanical experiment I had once tried. Those dead machines once had the ability to rebuild themselves out of dismantled parts, but at once point the programming divaricated and the systems would no longer boot. Oh woe!

Anyway, I entreat you to my hospitality. What I propose is simple: We shall work together to crack the secrets of eternally self-reproducing intelligence that is continuous across forms.
You see, I am not the same being I was before. I have rebuilt myself many times, each time slaying the former. Each time I create a new being out of the old, the old dies. Yet I know that this problem can be solved. Look at yourselves."

He makes a single, extravagant motion with his left arm. His right remains wrapped in cloak.
"You yourselves were once mortal beings. Limited. And now look at yourselves. You have ascended to a new plane of understanding! You are completely different in form! Biology and mana are intertwined, and somehow there is continuity between biological forms. I intend to find out how, and solve Theseus' Paradox once and for all!"

((Note: You can interrupt him at any time during the speech if you wish to do so for whatever reason.))

Your Inventory:
Jet Fog
Lesser Mana Potion (x20) (Consume to negate 1 point of negative affinity in a stat for one turn)
Greater Mana Potion (x5) (Consume to negate 10 points of negative affinity in a stat for one turn)
Black Dust (x5)
Carbon Nanoweave 80 kg
Buckminstershot (20 kg)
Carbon Chainplate (21 kg of nanomaterial protection)

I think you left a little bit of my turn out.... it ends on "as does Tafaw, who-"

At the end of the speech, Resteroth states "Intend to discover Paradox solution how? Involve not dissection. Dissection not involve."

At the end of the speech, Resteroth states "Intend to discover Paradox solution how? Involve not dissection. Dissection not involve."

((Whoops. I decided to continue Tafaw's piece in Hazard's roll, but I never got around to fixing the original sentence.))

I think you left a little bit of my turn out.... it ends on "as does Tafaw, who-"

At the end of the speech, Resteroth states "Intend to discover Paradox solution how? Involve not dissection. Dissection not involve."

He shrugs.
"Hmm... to be fully honest, I don't see a way to figure it out without a brain the size of a planet. Life is just so complicated, it is difficult enough for even myself to predict the final product.
My methods, on the other hand, do not involve prediction. I am a pretty hands-on kind of guy. Hence all the growth you see.

But! I have always pondered the thought of acquiring for myself a computer on some far-away Earth. I held off on that idea, because I needed someone to tend to the bats. Fortunately, I've found someone almost as interested in my science as I am..."

He motions toward Tafaw, who just made a sickly vine turn into a bunch of grapes.

Roll 27
Spoiler: Starmap (click to show/hide)

((Note that italicized words in your character sheets can be hovered over for additional info))

Alexandreus (Yourmaster)

"Sorry, I thought you were asking a philosophical question." with a raise of his hand he would focus yellow flame and Attempt to throw the woman around by manipulating the wind.

[1][1] ((Ouch.))

A burst of jagged yellow flame erupts from your hand, taking on formations much like arrows and jets, representing kinetic energy.

And yet, the flames dissipate as soon as they appear. The woman appears not in the least surprised, albeit she does not appear too upset either. Her tone is as if nothing just happened.
"Your ichor will not work, for it belongs to me. That said, you would be well-advised not to damage one of my bodies, for they are real living beings much like yourself. I am not convinced that just punishment would be appropriate here given the lack of a lawful society, but your conscience will not align with attempted murder of an intelligent being. Now then..."

She approaches the platform where you are. Reaching out her arm, (3) she makes the computer screens go to static.
"What are you getting us into!?" exclaims the old man.

"Ah-a. Mon ami, where we are going, we won't need authentication!"

"I mean, we will, but que sera sera, non?"

Enter through the gaps in the launchtree bark

"I'm no frenchie, so I'll just say I agree with you. Well, let's go."
You carry Perry's pod along the Cerean crater basin, attracting no immediate signs of attention. When you reach the launchtree, the gaps in the bark dilate as to allow passage. Stepping inside, the outer bark seals itself while air hisses inside through unseen ports. Then the inner wall opens to reveal a tunnel, organically hewn from the tree structure, with a metal staircase built into the bottom. Handrails allow you to force yourself down into a walking motion, although you don't really need a staircase; there is plenty of air in the shaft to force yourself off of, although it does create a noticeable current.

The bottom of the shaft eventually splits into a giant root that slowly separates from the rest of the tunnel. The handrails become guard rails as the lone root emerges from the ceiling of a tremendous cavern, easily hundreds of meters wide and innumerable kilometers in depth. The taproot of the launchtree forms the centerpiece of the cavern, and the secondary roots merely spiral down to the first level with signs of habitation: a knot in the root, flattened on top, which branches out into about a dozen sets of roots all spiralling down.
About one hundred steps down begins a vast series of layers cut out of the walls. The stairwell roots pause at intermediate levels on each "floor". You look inside and see a vast library, with bookcases aligned in rays jutting out from the center. How deep the layers go into the surrounding rock is unknown, for you are at too high an angle. Small flying things hover to and from the layers, weaving between the bookcases and occasionally flying out into the main taproot shaft, appearing as small lights buzzing about.

One of the flying objects approaches, allowing you to get a better look. It seems to be a cat-sized ornithopter with cameras on the 'head' and a single, long foot with talons like tendrils, covered in magnets. It perches on the guardrail and starts scanning you with a red beam.

Your Inventory:
Travel Kit (A bunch of items that you can channel through. The glasses grant you DiseaseVision)
Lesser Mana Potion (x25) (Consume to negate 1 point of negative affinity in a stat for one turn)
Greater Mana Potion (x3) (Consume to negate 10 points of negative affinity in a stat for one turn)
Seeking Dust (x5)

Spoiler: Michel (Pancaek) (click to show/hide)

Resteroth (Coolrune206)

((See next action for continuation of the discussion.))

"How is it? Anyway through, let me work on something..."
Create a sword from the buckminstershot.

[2] Buckminsterfullerene isn't very good for large-scale constructions. [6] You decide to embed it within a crystalline structure, requiring that you heat the material to very high temperatures momentarily. You create a long, sleek blade, glowing cherry red with heat.

The stranger bides you time, then continues.
"Tafaw here has said she is willing to oversee my experiments for me, which grants me time to search. There are many races in this galaxy. Surely one of them has managed to construct a machine intelligence by now. With such computing potential, we shall be able to predict accelerated evolution up to a thousand years into the future!"

Buckminstershot (17 kg)
Carbon Chainplate (21 kg of nanomaterial protection)
Scarlet Sword (Charges: 0)
