Nope. University of Sydney (though a lot of my friends are at UNSW for commerce-related degrees wherein they apparently dedicate a set amount of time comparing Accounting to various unpleasant experiences). Not sure why they went for the "excessively difficult exam with equally excessive scaling" option for their Advanced Maths courses.

Ah. My mate went was supposed to go to UNSW for an actuarial degree, but it fell through because Queensland education is a joke.

Most high-level maths is like that, especially if the pass-rate is usually very high. Pure math is kinda useless though.

Sorry to hear. If it's any consolation, the Accounting course in (not sure if it's compulsory, I think so though since my friend doing actuarial studies there does it) UNSW's actuarial degree has been repeatedly compared to anal and certain other things.

Yeah, the difficulty spike in the finals and the lack of applications for me isn't too nice. I'm mainly doing it because apparently Statistics (Advanced) in next semester is really damn useful for Machine Learning and Business Intelligence.
