The foxfire itself is the payload. You can't remove the payload from the payload. It doesn't work like that. She can and will explode. If you really want to rp that out, we can, but I would rather not accidentally your character because stupids.

You can't trample all over the sword lore just because foxfire is dangerous. Maybe the sword is really darn good at dealing with excess energy, foxfire included.
