One of them isn't loaded. But John doesn't know that, so the whole bullets from nowhere effect would be detrimental to him in such a case.

Pistol whipping has no need for ammo, just apply direct to the forehead!

Still, the irony of his ability allowing David to cap him with an empty gun is quite attractive.

Probably.

And you do have a pretty good handle on John. About everything you assumed about him is correct.

But just to confirm a few things:

- normal fire (and unless dragon-fire looks vastly different to normal fire, it's included) would burn his body like every other human body.
- normal lightning (with all the side-effects lightnings usually have) will shock and burn his body
- wind, as long as it's actual air movement, will affect his body
- normal water water will affect his body
- blunt force, eg fist to the face or baseball bat to back of his had will also work
- edged weapons will work as well
- bullets do so too
- poisons from plant, insects and animals, whose venomous effect on other humans John has observed will work as long as he is aware that he has ingested or been injected with it. So morphing into a black widow or cobra, or rubbing some poison ivy in his face will work. Dropping some tasteless, smellless and colorless recin into his tee won't. Besides, John is a coffee person.
- bleeding out will work
- magical healing won't work
- foxfire would have worked as fire if Kiri hadn't him provided with that sample of somehow solid, non-sticky, room-temperature flame. Whatever electrical properties foxfire might have are lost on John, 'cause normal flames aren't electrical.

So, now you have plenty of ways to tear his body to shreds.

Alright: Ruling on what happened to Falchion.

She is able to absorb energy. This doesn't really matter, due to the fact that Foxfire is part of a Kitsune's soul.

What does matter is the part about how she absorbs other legendary swords: Assuming they would be like her, and have a humanoid form and likely a soul, this means she has at least a small ability to absorb souls.

So, she would be able to absorb the foxfire, and wouldn't explode. However, she will have random bouts of bad to agonizing pain for the next few days, unless the foxfire is removed.
