Kilild is a world at peace. The last serious war was over 5000 years ago and reportedly ended when Verwar was split in two by some natural disaster. Since then Cleper has kept the peace through their sound judgements of conflict. But the winds of change are coming. Fifteen years ago, Oldrdyn became unsafe for any with non-human blood unless specifically protected by the king. Ten years ago, Arer split away from Verwar, and although Cleper settled the conflict with minimal bloodshed, there is still a tension between the two countries. Bandits are appearing more and more, and Cleper is getting worried that soon even their judgement will be ignore and the entire continent will be covered in the flames of war once more.

Humans: The most populous of the three races, humans are exactly what you'd expect They are the shortest lived of the races, with an average lifespan of 100 years.
Elves: The least populous of the three races, elves are rumored to be better at magic, swifter, and wiser than humans. Although these stereotypes are not consistently true, they are commonly held by all except a few. They live the longest out of the three races, with the average lifespan being around 200 years.
Dwarves: Although people would believe that dwarves are metal grubbing, strong but stupid beings, the fact of the matter is although on average, they are shorter and stronger than humans, they have no more love for metal than a normal human. However, they understand that they can use this to their advantage, and so mine for ores and shape metal into intricate pieces of art, which they then sell to humans and elves at a significant profit. They have an average lifespan of around 150 years.

Stat effects:
Human: No effect
Elves: +spd, +skl, -con, -str/mag (whichever you have more growth in)
Dwarves: +con, +str/mag (whichever you have more growth in), -spd, -skl
 
Other beings:
Wyverns: There are two types of wyverns. Mountain wyverns are big, strong, and built for fighting. Sand wyverns are quicker, smaller, and are built for flying for days on end if needed.
Pegasi: There are two types of pegasi. Forest/Plains pegasi are the typical pegasi that you would expect. Sand pegasi are adapted to the desert. They can eat cactus and can survive on less water than a normal pegasi if needed.

Cleper: A small city state, ruled by a council of Elders. The city is home to a vast array of libraries, filled with knowledge of history and magic. Because of the wealth of knowledge the city contains, they act as arbiters between the nations, soothing conflict and settling arguments when needed. The five person council is elected for life, with current members ranging in age from 76 to 196, and have one elf, two dwarves, and two humans. (Cleperians)
 
Tairani: Surrounding Cleper is Tairani, a mutually beneficial relationship. Tairani helps to protect Cleper's borders and in return they gain magical knowledge. As such, they are the most technologically advanced country. They also have the largest population of mixed blood and non-humans, welcoming anyone who desires to work hard and live well. They are ruled by several noble families, with rulers being in charge for 30 years before passing on to the next noble family in line. The Saenight family is the current ruling family and will switch over to the Tytas family at the end of the year. (Tairanis)
 
Oldrdyn: Caught between Tairani and Verwar, Oldrdyn is a strict monarchy, ruled by the same family for the past 5000 years. There is a system of nobles set up, but they have very little power compared to the nobles in other countries. Starting fifteen years ago, humans began pushing out the small population of non-humans that lived there. They viewed them as outsiders, believing that they were subhuman. Only those protected by the royal court or half-bloods that could pass for humans stayed. The ones protected by the court all had some unique skill that made the king want to keep them around. Verwar: A monarchy in name, the nobles have most of the power here. Due to the split in the country, it is hard for the king to enforce his power over all of it. As such, he has given the nobles mostly free rein in their principalities, only insisting that they send to him tribute twice a year and will come to his call if he ever needs their aid. (Verwars)

Arer: A former province of Verwar, the dwarves and humans of the province rose up and killed the noble that was ruling them and declared their independence. Only intervention from Cleper saved them from being annihilated by Verwar's forces. Since then, they have viewed themselves as in debt to Cleper, sending them tribute regularly, consisting of food, intricately worked metals, and precious gems. (Arers)
 
Dantin: This mostly desert covered country is home to the nomadic tribes. Using wyverns and pegasi to fly from oasis to oasis, they care little for what is occurring outside their boundaries. Very few foreigners enter this country and even fewer leave. Some die to the harsh sands, others join the nomadic tribes. Still others simply vanish. Although there are several unique tribes within the country, there is very little conflict as the tribes believe that working together is better than staining the sands with their fellow nomads blood. Islye: A mostly barren rock, there are a few coastal towns, home to pirates and thieves. These towns exist solely for pirates to hide from other navies and to recruit new crew members. They do not consider themselves a nation, and as such do not use the name Islye. Instead, they simply refer to it as The Rock.

Echore: Very few people know that Echore exists. A hidden nation of elves, they live in the deep forest, far from prying eyes of Verwars or any other countries that might be interested in them. There they practice magic, study artifacts that have been saved from before the Breaking, and live long and happy lives. They are ruled by a monarchy, but it is largely a ceremonial position as they have very little need for a true ruler. (Echorians)

Who the Players Are
Good question! That's going to be up to you. Either you're going to be a group of merchant guards, protecting a wagon train heading into Cleper or you're going to be a band of thieves (no, everyone doesn't need to be a thief trainee) operating in one of the major Tairani cities. Vote in the poll for which one! You will be starting as trainee classes, and even if you join after people promote, you will still get trainee levels

Applications: Applications will be accepted starting next Wednesday most likely, with decisions being made on Friday or Saturday depending on my schedule. Up until then, I'll be answering questions and giving advice on character bios. THIS IS NOT FIRST COME FIRST SERVED. I do reserve the right to reject players based on their activity in previous games as well as their actions in other games on the board.

Bio:
When Kaltsar was a young boy growing up in a small village in Verwar, he was friends with a young girl. Beautiful, intelligent, and gifted with magic, Kaltsar was enamored with her from a young age. As she grew into adulthood, word of her beauty and skill began to travel, and a young lord from a nearby city came, demanding that she marry him. She refused. At first, the refusals were courteous, and so too were the young lord's insistences that she would come to rethink her decision. But the young woman did not relent, and the lord's patience grew thin. Her parents were ordered killed, and when she learned of this, she cursed the young lord's name. In a fit of rage, the young lord lashed out with his lance, and impaled the young girl. Kaltsar, acting on instinct, charged the lord with his woodcutting axe. With his lance buried in the woman's body, the lord was unable to defend himself, and had his neck cut. For reasons Kaltsar could only guess at, the lord's entourage did nothing to stop or capture him as they returned to the lord's father to report his fate. Kaltsar was forced to flee from his home, and has been reduced to taking whatever jobs he can find to support himself.

Both CE and BMM's bios look good, though CE were you intending your dude to be from a noble family? That can happen if you want, but it'd be something we'd need to work out. Anyone that's interested in something like that would need to talk to me, since there are probably ways we can work stuff like that out, it'd just need to be planned not just "Oh yeah, this is a thing"

Bowtie: Naw, they can leave buuuut they wouldn't talk about Echore existing. It's secret for a reason. If you want to be an elf from Echore as opposed to somewhere else, we'd probably have to talk through your bio as to why they left, what they're doing, etc.
