There's some new Reptiles that GemSet doesn't have graphics for yet:
  • Lizard - Giant and Person variants
  • Anole - all variants
  • Iguana - all variants
  • Skink - all variants
  • Chameleon - all variants

Edit: Here's some temporary graphics until Dragon can make something. Or if Dragon wants to take this and use it as a starting point or fix it up a bit, that would be good too. Lizards aren't trainable, so there's no war or hunting versions.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Heh. Just kidding. In all due honesty, I'm unsure of what to do with this graphics set. Over the past few weeks I've been really torn as to whether I want to continue developing it. On one hand, I sunk months into this project and I really don't want that to go to waste. On the other hand, I've grown a lot as an artist in the past 2 years and I'm really unsatisfied with how this looks. I can do a lot better.

In preparation for bigger and better things, I've been writing down everything I need for 0.43.05 and doing a small warm-up project in the meantime. I'm going to use my list to update GemSet for 0.43.05, then hand off the rest of the development to the community. The style shouldn't be too hard to add on to, anyways. Those are some very nice looking reptiles, jecowa. :)

Also, please excuse my broken images on the previous pages. I had a small mishap with my image hosting and ended up loosing every forum image I've posted in the past 4 years.

Would be sad to see this one end, unless someone was able to jump in and do whatever it is that yet needs to be done. There is a 'clarity' to this set that sets is apart from all others.

But then on the flipside, I'd hate to see a new awesome set get thrown by the wayside because you feel compelled to keep this going!

Then posting in that pack's thread would probably get you a better response. This thread is for a cool graphics set which has instructions.

I love gemset so I've been working in gemset compatibility for a mod I'm making, and I've updated some of tiles to the current version. Mostly just adding the proper symbols and graphics.txt so that all the new giant creatures are displayed properly, I also arranged slightly edited and made a graphics.txt for the reptiles jecowa produced.

In addition I fixed a couple of errors in birds_new where two of the tiles were for the wrong creature.

All ffiles can be downloaded here : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0ByVsQCh9_uAMbkp3ei1LRUt6dEE

I might do a couple more in the next week or so if I need them.

I just had to comment and say a big thanks for this wonderful texture pack. I am not a fan of the realistic more gothic themed tilesets, so spacefox is the one I mostly went for. I just decided to look through different tilesets and I came upon GemSet, that looked so clean and a bit cartoony. Screenshots though do not justify how wonderful it is in game, making DF absolutely gorgeous! I thought the black background would make me dislike it, but it actually feels more right to me, to see the black background, with the "fog" effect being perfect for the separation of external Z levels.

Thank you so much for this absolutely wonderful tileset DragonDePlatino and of course Max™, Button and fricy for helping out with it! Cheers =)

All constructed walls have the same gray-ish color. Is it normal?

This is normal with the default settings in GemSet. It's possible to change it to take the color of constructions from the material used, by changing part of overrides.txt in the data/init folder. What you want to do is go to the section beginning with
Code: [Select]
[TILESET:_overrides_constructed_feature.png:_overrides_constructed_feature.png:6]Each entry looks like this:
Code: [Select]
[OVERRIDE:43:T:ConstructedFloor:6:0:8]What you want to do is chop off the :8, which tells TWBT what color to make the walls, so you're left with
Code: [Select]
[OVERRIDE:43:T:ConstructedFloor:6:0]for every entry in the constructed section. You can do the same thing with smoothed natural walls, as well. If you prefer some other uniform color you can change the value, numbered according to colors.txt.

Nice to know, thanks. I was wondering, is it possible to use separate graphics for wooden and stone walls?

So I threw these together ages ago, but never really got around to posting them. Performers in the GemSet style for the four major races. Intended to be Generic Performer, Poet, Bard, and Dancer.
