It looks like you're using an old version of DFHack - See the "DFHack build" line? That says it's v0.40.24, but the latest version of Dwarf Fortress is v0.42.05.

There is an alpha build of DFHack v0.42.05 at https://github.com/DFHack/dfhack/releases
It should work with that.
Make sure you are also using the latest version of TWBT for 42.05, here: https://github.com/mifki/df-twbt/releases

Alright. So I finally tracked down the 'cutting edge' starter pack, that uses DF 42.05 (with the appropriately updated DFHack). Installed the GemSet graphics pack that CAME with the Peridexes Errant's launcher, and ended up with following issue



Clearly, I'm having a font issue. I saw a post with similar issues, but the apparent solution there didnt seem to be an issue here (wrong DF version I think it was..)

I dunno what to do. Anyone able to offer some suggestions?

Make sure it includes the latest version of Text Will be Text (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=138754.0)

Also, check your init.txt file.  Make sure FONT and FULLFONT are curses_1280x600.png, GRAPHICS_FONT and GRAPHICS_FULLFONT are gemset_map.png, and PRINT_MODE is TWBT

If it is missing TWBT, the installation doesn't contain folders, so here's where to put each item:
realcolors.lua goes in ./hack/lua
The contents of 0.42.05-alpha1 go in ./hack/plugins (note: the contents of the folder go in here, not the folder itself)
You can ignore the rest of the files, as GemSet already has its own version that you don't want to overwrite.

@Alyfox, @Rydel - nothing dramatic needed, just click the "Enable DFHack" button of the launcher in the DFHack tab.

*facepalm* I hadnt even noticed that DFHack wasnt running. I'm feeling foolish now. Thanks Peridexis!

Is there any reason why Workflow needs to be enabled everytime I start DF? DFHack is enabled and Workflow is highlighted green in the Starter Pack but Workflow is not running until the first time I try to access it, at that time it asks "would you like to enable workflow." Simply hitting 'y' gets it up and running. Usually I try to remember to go into workflow right away so that my production all resumes, but you know... getting old... memory :(

Anyway, not a huge deal, just finding out if it's a known issue or not.

Damn, don't know why I keep forgetting which thread I am in!!! Was thinking i was in the main Starter pack thread for some reason. Think senility may be setting in early on me some days! Even went to the Starter pack thread just now looking for a response, and didn't see my post, had to look in my profile for recent posts.  :-[

i've tried literally everything and i am about to snap
i've followed the guide to the dot yet it still isn't working
do any of you have a screenshot of what my folder's supposed to look like with this because i think i kinda botched up everything
if any of you could help at all i would be so infinitely thankful. like jesus christ. i'm about to choke somebody to death.

thanks buddy, i've entirely given up on gemset because i think i was about to go bald from the stress of me being dumb/bad with anything more complicated than a kid block puzzle so i'm just going to use wanderlust and just deal with it. thanks again

I've got a version with raws appropriate for 42.05 here. The new creatures don't have their colorful graphics, but they'll at least have the correct silhouettes.

Does anybody have a solution to the miner-appears-as-child problem? Is it a compatibility issue between Gemset 1.41 and DF 42.06? Fixable?

EDIT: For some reason, my manager/broker/bookkeeper now looks like a baby, to go with my minor miner.
