Thanks, folks! Works great! I forgot to ask what the BAMM! folder is, the one with all the creature raws. Do I need that?

Nope, that's for use with a tool called BAMM!. Leave it in or leave it out, just don't overwrite your raws with its contents.

Hey, folks! Been a while since I posted here, eh? I've been finding more time to work on GemSet so here's a preview of the shrub graphics that will be in the next update:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

As you can see, each shrub will have a unique graphic so you can see at-a-glance what plants you're gathering. In order to save space in my tilesets, many shrubs will share the same graphic but have a different color. Crops are a different story, though, and each type will have a unique tile. Everything's drawn and I just need to iron out some override issues before I can release this update.

Looking great, keep it up :D

Any idea when the building override ability will be done for TWBT?

I seem to be having trouble installing this under Linux.  I've tried both installing into the (Arch) repo's installation of dwarffortress, as well as downloading the vanilla Linux dwarffortress and installing GemSet into that.  Whenever I try to run it, I seem to get icons in place of text (making the menus unreadable) and no change to the actual tiles.  What could I be doing wrong?

This pack requires the dfhack plugin TWBT to display properly. You can use the creature graphics in Vanilla, but to experience it in it's full glory you need to use a Starter pack, or install dfhack manually.

I did have the lazynewb pack, but I realised that dfhack wasn't working - that seems to have been the problem.  (Had to fix library files.)  Thanks!

What mod adds the weather info in the bottom left, the date in the top right, and whatever is going on in the bottom right?

edit: Is that DF Hack? I now see it after adding some mods.

Yes, those are tweaks from DFHack.  The numbers in the bottom right indicate the happiness/stress levels of your citizens.

I came to ask how Ironhand had such sharp graphics when zoomed in as he showed a few pages back. Turns out there is a 48px version :) As a user of LNP, it didn't dawn on me there was something larger available.

I'm not sure if this is better asked here or in the LNP thread, but I'm curious why LNP doesn't include the 48px version as an option? Gemset_48 + ShizzleClean font (or the newer curses_1280_600 font a few pages back in this thread) is close to perfection. Graphics are super sharp (and large for my aging eyes...) by default, and I can zoom out when needed or when playing on a smaller laptop screen without compromise.

I'm basically just saving on file size, because most people don't have screens that can display at such high resolution and can zoom in as required.

That's fair. I only have a 1080p screen, so I'm certainly not making use of the size except for the fact I can zoom in a ton without things getting fuzzy. I'm just overly picky :) And it requires using an appropriate font size, since obviously the default font with 48px _is_ for 4k screens which I'm guessing would complicate the LNP a bit.

That said, for anyone that stumbles upon this thread - give 48px a try, even if your screen isn't the "correct" size (and can handle the extra processing work). With TwbT, you can easily zoom out to compensate without hosing your menus, and you get the advantage of "infinite" zoom. Maybe I'll realize this isn't practical down the road, but for now it looks amazing.
