"That's my point. Eventual insanity is the likely outcome."

"Look around, kid. There are two, maybe three humans here. Still not sure about Mr. Facechewer there. And No is magic, which can do strange things to a mind. Why are we switching minds anyway, though? How is that supposed to help?"

"I do not recall ever telling you my name, friend," Mr. Facechewer says, casually jumping up to grab onto the hole in the wall and pulling himself up with less effort than would seem entirely reasonable. That done, he inspects the whatsit that he's supposed to retrieve and if there's a way to return with it to the Traveller.

"Pedantry is a dull habit to have. Now is the time for-why, I do believe I'll take my own advice," Facechewer says, exhaling a cloud of smoke as he walks back to the hole and takes a few moments to retrieve that hole-making device, if he is at all able to.
(We dropped several feet from that balcony to the floor of the room below.)
(Also jeez, this moved fast while I slept)

"It wouldn't help us, I was just giving an example. However, say, erasing every trace of their memories might be a tad bit more effective. That's just one option."

No makes more essences, wincing as one falters and nearly detonates.

((An essence failure usually explodes into an uncontrolled spell.))

"A shame you lack mechanical backups and a pseudohivemind to store memories in. Bit quiet here though. No signal."

"There are many other options for one with my power. I could wither them into nothingness, drive them into insanity, transfer any of my wounds to them, cause hallucinations, give them an uncontrollable desire to be you... basically if it could count as a curse, I can do it with enough essences."

"... I don't get impressed easily. You have done so. This gives me an idea- maybe now is the proper time to take on an apprentice... of course, sometime around now- not right now considering...well... yeah."

((ninjad.))

"I will curse you so all the alien's minds enter your body, then we kill you and they're all gone! Oops. I have a bad habit of plotting to kill people in front of said people."

"Point. Last time I did the plotting in front of the target, he proceeded to try to cut my eyes out with his sword. That didn't go well for either of us or the purple-legged bystander. Of course, then he turned the sword into a mace and bashed my knee. That hurt."

"Ye'd be best served not plotting in front of our good rescuer, either. He's already pulled out a fairy and done all that, he's probably read yer mind and figured out everything about ye with his magical mind-reading powers."

"Mind-reading powers? He's clearly a psychologist! Hmph. If he could read my mind, he'd know my more powerful grandfather's name."

"I could cast a truth spell on him- let's not discuss this in front of him, I'm weary of being killed by powerful mages."
