Red quotes in darkness?
« on: May 14, 2015, 10:58:32 am »

I noticed in a cave my character can see red quote marks outside of my vision that represent creatures. I can't see the creatures until I get closer. Is this noise? Or do I just sense there's a creature there? Or am I a vampire? What's going on?

Eyes of critters with nightvision.
That's cool.

Not sure if dying of old age is an honor or a shame for weaponmasters. On the one hand, it means they never got the opportunity to die in glorious battle. On the other hand, it means nothing could beat them in glorious battle.

At least I think that's what it is, I know goblins do it, but dorfs don't and have good night vision themselves...

Maybe it's potentially hostile things with nightvision?

Eyes glinting in the darkness. Like cats. Or not like cats. You can't be sure.

As far as I know it's just goblins, kobolds, and blizzardmen, but there could definitely be more.

Werebeasts and the occasional demon, FB, or titan.

EDIT: Not to alarm you. It's almost certainly goblins.

Ok that is freaking awesome. Thanks for the answer. It was indeed goblins in the darkness. It's a little funny showing their eyes glowing though, because sometimes the goblins were facing away from me.

I wish rats could become hostile and produce the same effect in over population.

The quote marks become apostrophes when they lose an eye.

Heiterverzweiflung. Not a legit German word so much as something a friend and I made up in German class once. "Carefree despair". When life is so fucked that you can't stop laughing.
