"Hang on. If this noble is indeed involved in things he shouldn't be, would posing as Ministorum officials really be such a good idea? If he believes that we might uncover his secrets, he might simply decide to have us killed. Whether his men actually could kill us is for the Emperor to decide, but a firefight would make secrecy rather difficult."

"And confirm his corruption? I do not think even nobles could conceal a open fire-fight and murder of a half-dozen visitors.

No, if he truly wished to get rid of us, he'd attempt to bluff us away, then send agents to assassinate us."

"Hang on. If this noble is indeed involved in things he shouldn't be, would posing as Ministorum officials really be such a good idea? Tarkhal rubbed his chin. "You bring up a valid point..." he began quietly, though Aelia's intervention meant he had less to explain. "Yes, we would be too large a number and with - supposedly - too important a persona in the group for his servants to readily turn us away or for him to try and dispose of us. We were informed he keeps himself locked, so I imagined the he would most likely only talk to someone he believes to be of his stature - of noble birth and position - or one of the people involved in the dark dealings he seems to be involved with."

"We are unfamiliar with the latter group, and I do not think we could readily impersonate shady dealers. We do have two obvious women of faith, so I decided on a cover that played to our strengths." He sighed and licked his pale lips. "That does not mean I think it is perfect, however. Do you have an idea?" His gaze moved towards Elodie.

Elodie thought for a few moments.

"Perhaps we shouldn't all go try to meet this noble. I am not certain I could pose as anyone of importance anyway...I can possibly try to sneak into the manse from another entrance, or take up position in a nearby location with my sniper rifle. Unless of course you'd rather I not be off by myself."

[Aseaheru]

"I think this is a good idea, and would like to go with Elodie, since I probably would not be allowed to access any their systems if I go with the main group, and also because I have a suppressed weapon, which should help give us a little more of a chance to stay quiet if someone does find us. Plus, I imagine there will be some doors that will be needing opening, yes?"

 "Plus, well, I understand that there is often friction between the Machine cult and the Imperial Cult, which would make a member of the one under the other look odd."

[UXLZ]

Eizen, who had previously simply listened to the conversation, sighed inwardly. Time to reveal what he'd been dreading, after all.

"I'm not sure if the Inquisitor briefed you, but something all of you should probably know that I'm a Psyker. Sanctioned, of course. I doubt my particular skills will come in handy yet, but it's something you should all probably know."

[GiglameshDespair]

With a tone approaching absolute zero, Aelia spoke. "A psyker. I see."

Tarkhal rose an eyebrow. "I would rather you not try to sneak in from a different entrance, since the estates of nobles usually have advanced security systems and at least a handful of guards and if you got caught... Well, it suffices to say invading a noble's house should always be a last resort. I also do not think the hive's enforcers or even the nobility of the Upper Hive would take kindly to someone taking position somewhere with an exposed rifle. If you wish to stay behind, I am afraid you would have to stay close to the land speeder or otherwise not bring much attention to yourself." The scribe explained, taking some time to think things through as well. "If you do stay outside, I would rather you keep one of the comm-beads."

"Oh, I see. You certainly looked odd enough." Tarkhal remarked offhandedly. He'd certainly seen psykers - mostly Astropaths - before, and they tended to be weird. Even weirder than the fame voidborn had amidst some of the most superstitious groundsloggers from backwater worlds, and that was a lot.

[Aseaheru]

"The technology of the Imperial Cult is still technology. Who do you think takes care of it?" He simply said to Gar.

Gar shrugs. "Dunno, they never bothered telling me that. Probably specially trained members of their order. I mean, we have special members who deal with various things, surely they do the same. A few for teaching, a few for preaching, a few for fixing their equipment..."

[UXLZ]

*pop*

"I would have told you all earlier, but there just didn't seem to be a reason to. No worry, though, I won't be spewing fire or lightning out of my hands any time soon. Really, I doubt any of you will notice my powers taking effect at all."

he shrugs.

"Still, it's important that you know. Now you'll be able to execute me if I start showing signs of posession. No, using my left hand for writing is not one of those signs.
The former ecclessiarchy should have a good idea of what those are. Hopefully they're accurate."

[Sirus]

"Very well. I suppose the tech-priest and I can stay with the flying vehicle. Just to make sure no one tries to sabotage it, of course. You are correct that the noble will likely not attempt to openly murder a ministorum official, but I do not think that setting up a tragic aircraft malfunction would be out of the question." Elodie stared at Eizen, suspicion clear on her face, but did not make any hostile moves.

"What exactly are your abilities, pysker? If we do not know, it will be harder to distinguish possession from you using your powers." Tesera says, her voice neutral.

[Caellath]

"You staying outside does sound like a valid idea, though keeping a comm-bead in case your presence is necessary inside the house since you are one of your combat specialists - or at least so you seem." The scribe replied to Elodie, pausing and taking another moment to look at her from head to toe as if to make sure what he was saying checked out. "And I should purchase a couple of screamers at a later moment or date."

After nodding and making sure that yes, Elodie looked like one of their combat specialists, Tarkhal agreed with Tesera. "Knowing what you are capable of sounds like a reasonable proposition."

"If I am going to be the speeder guard, I suppose I should look the part." Elodie retreated back to her room and redonned her flak armor - on top of her clothing, this time. Trying to hide it under the fancy civilian clothing just made it look as though she were failing to be sneaky. The feral worlder returned as quickly as she could.

"I will take the comm bead, and yes: I am a warrior by birth and by nature. Shall I bring my rifle along as well, or will my close-combat weapons suffice?"

My abilities in no way resemble possession. If you stay nearby, they will allow us to shoot more accurately and land strikes more true, assuming I succeed in manifesting them. there is another, but I doubt it will be useful unless we end up trapped in a pitch black room."
