The man with the box. Well, not exactly a man. More of an over-engineered artificial human created as a museum display by higher-dimensional beings. One day he made his escape by stealing this traveling machine from that museum. Or so he says. In any case, he looks human: olive-skinned and dark-haired, of a somewhat scrawny build, medium height. Though he has some odd habits. There's sort of a frantic energy about him, being very talkative though not giving a lot of answers. He seems inclined to help people, but also seems somewhat paranoid, not desiring to stay in one place for very long.

Name: Sheotl
Title: (former) High Scholar . Telolotl University. Telolotan
Description: A humanoid lizard of dark green skin tone, his eyes are a pale orange. A wispy beard grows from his chin, seemingly natural despite the impossibility of it happening. While his clothing seems to vary, a dirty brown satchel always seems attached to his person, containing his personal belongings. At the very bottom of the satchel is a small piece of parchment that never seems to rot. Written in a very rare language, it reads simply: "We miss you very much - Sasa and Rotyl (PS, mom and dad say hi!)"
History: Living in Telolotan under the megalomaniac rule of self-styled King Telolotyl was interesting, horrifying and at the same time a mistake Sheotl would never regret. He had spent much of his younger years wasting away at the Emperor's personal library. Oh yes, he was a brilliant spirit-caller and had a side-career as a demon hunter but for the most part, Sheotl was little more than a clerk serving an Emperor who's Empire barely paid attention to him. Tired of his life, he eventually packed his bags for the Curiates, the archipelago at the western edges of the Empire. It had always been home of society's malcontents but it was also a place of innovation and discovery. In the Curiates, pirates could conquer an island, becomes kings and be hanged the same day. It was the perfect place to live out his golden years. After some run-ins with a would be demon cultist, Sheotl eventually accepted a offer from the newly-crowned king of Telolotan, Telolotl. He had been crowned the week before Sheotl was offered the job, and it quite clearly showed by the 'university' described in the letter. Little more than a warehouse and a few sheds, Sheotl smiled and shrugged, knowing that getting off the island was going to be difficult. He thus spent the next few decades of his life in research, helping the regime in whatever way he could. As such, when the king's emissary brought in a peculiar crystal from the distant Ztah Steppes, Sheotl barely questioned it. The gem seemed to have a magical effect; it could open small portals in space. As a scholar, such a material was of course greatly curious to Sheotl. After years of trying to procure more, he hit the motherlode and got a crate full of it. This of course, soon resulted in a Mistake. The portal, it seemed, was far too large. Far, far too large. Seeing no other reasonable option, he sacrificed an assistant to the spirits, closing the portal. What Sheotl forget to do however, was specify to the spirit that he didn't want to be sucked in. Sheotl, as it would turn out, soon had little care for this Mistake, discovering the vast worlds Beyond.

Koi is a KX9 64. Aka a walking psionically based, mass fleet transit enabling ftl drive should he be plugged into a suitable psionic amp. Without an amp, only smallish ships, such as shuttlecraft are able to fit through the holes, with a likelyhood of a short comatose state following after the jump. Smaller, personsized portals are fine. Usually limited to LOS, and often not particularly accurate. They could be accurate if a 64 could be bothered to practice with them, and technically could result in what would be effectively telefragging, but like most KX9 psions, they suffer from chronic lack of motivation to do anything, including practice. They are at their best just lounging around. Although they do occasionally find something abnormal and fiddle with it for a while.

KX9 64's are one of the two pre70 KX9 that can consistently open rips in space to the Rabbithole, a stable pocket dimension that has slowly gotten larger over the years which the KX9 have colonized. Unlike 63's, 64's only can make temporary portals. However 64's can actually do stuff without needing to sync with nearby KX9 for the mental input.

Odds are is Koi made a mishop with his shuttle and ended up somewhere.. Not where he should be, possibly somewhere psionics don't work. And likely encountered the Traveler out of happenstance.

Koi has dark brown fluffy hair down to the small of his back, he has brown cat ears and a brown cat tail. His skin is fairly pale. He is about 5'7 in height. He has retractable claws, as well as fangs. Sharp fangs. Koi normally wears a grey hoodie and fairly loose athletic sweat pants. His left eye is a bright blue and his right eye is a deep, brilliant green.

State of life: Male, Adult.
Appearance: He doesn't look much beyond average, but his pure black hooded cloak is clearly a defining feature.
Background: No was a powerful warlock of the Nevermore clan, using the power of his Evil Eye to obliterate all resistance against him. On a whim, he entered a mage's deathmatch, and got ripped in two by a troll. Of course, now he's alive again, somehow.
Abilities: No may be a bit frail, but he makes up for this with the Evil Eye: a powerful magic ability which causes physical and mental harm to sentient beings from a distance, however if overused, the caster may end up temporarily going blind.

Fune is a member of the Nang Tien, a race of tiny humanoids living among other species on many different planets. They all originated from the same mysterious homeworld and they all have enormous (in proportion to themselves) artificial wings attached on their back, allowing unlimited flight. Strangely, even if they have not visited the planet in person, all Nang Tien have extensive knowledge of creatures on any planet their race inhabits. Fune's wings give off a bright, golden glow, obscuring her features and giving her the appearance of a ball of light with wings attached.
She travels with the Traveler (hee) to assist them in their Travels and provide insight on the denizens of various planets.

Name: Cobb
Gender: Male
Age: Indeterminate
Species: Bear. Ursus Americanus, to be exact, although with what he does, perhaps Ursus americanus sapiens may serve a better name.

Description: He's a bear, that wears overalls, has a love of good drink and a good bed. He seems to somehow have the capability to talk, and above-average intelligence for a human male. He also possesses quite unusually strong musculature for a bear of his species- indeed, quite unusual even for Earthly mammals to begin with. He also stands upright most of the time, though most bears tend to spend most of their time on all fours- but then, when he's talking, asking you for your finest bourbon and chatting to you about the weather, that tends to be the last thing on your mind.

He towers even over the tallest human, too. Also, he has opposable thumbs. How would a fine ursine citizen like him hold beer?

Background: Not even the Traveller is particularly sure when Cobb actually got ON his box; rather, he wandered off to find something and found Cobb sleeping on the floor, snuggled up next to an empty barrel of mead, with a post-it note on his head saying 'my name is Cobb', covered in an ungodly stink of God-knows-what and what appeared to be part of a garden gnome in his mouth.

He was quite stung and irritable waking up, but whether that was the hangover or the fact he woke up on some random person's ship, will be left to the reader to decide.

Ever since, Cobb decided to tag along, after briefly listening to what the Traveller actually did for a living and deciding that getting drunk on the best drinks the multiverse had to offer was the best life a connoisseur of fine drink like him could live. Nobody ever asked why he was a talking drunkard bear that wore clothes-or, indeed, how and where such a bear would come to be- but then again, would you question a bear?

Spoiler: Facechewer Bloodscream (click to show/hide)

On a nearby couch of uncertain origin sits Facechewer Bloodscream, a wizened man of an Earthlike countenance, though with a terribly vespine look to him only partially undone by the seemingly amicable smoking of an ape-shaped pipe made of unidentified bone that produces a considerable amount of purplish or perhaps reddish smoke, depending on the circumstances. He's dressed in long, flowing sequined pink and gold finery that could have only been made in an era of imperialism and globalization on a galactic scale, and although his outfit has clearly suffered quite a bit, and he shows no signs of possessing another one, it still carries more than an echo of opulence from its former home.

Facechewer is probably quite a mellow fellow, and is most likely to keep to himself, occasionally pitching in with the odd bit of questionable elderly wisdom coming from entirely the wrong place and time. If asked, he will mention that he is here on vacation, having sponsored one of the Traveller's temporal errands in return for the privilege. In addition he will not hesitate to add that he also earns his keep by showing off his mean skill with the keytar once in a while when the pipe's been kind to him. He's also not half bad at throat singing in the meta-Mongolian tradition, and he'll have you know he financed and directed an admittedly mediocre holofilm on the similarly half-successful Purge To End Them All once upon a time. And also he may have taken part in a couple of wars, he would say and chuckle with fond memories.

Name: Axel Brandt

Appearance: A rather large man, human by the looks of it. He is bald save for the twirly handlebar mustache of impeccable manliness that rests upon his lip. Axel is quite a muscular and of German descent, clad usually in white buttoned shirts coupled with green pants and suspenders he stands at a sizable 6'1" and appears as a quite imposing man due to such however, the large man's face always has a kind gesture, a warm hearty smile, and welcoming demeanor. It is easy to tell that the man had never worked an easy day in his life, for his body seems sculpted magnificently.

Background: Hailing from Germany in the early 1900's, Axel had been part of a traveling circus, to which he was, of course, the strongman. Preforming various feats of strength and fortitude. For a time, life had been grand, and the life had brought joy to Axel, as he had done the same for so many peoples in their travel.

However the looming atrocities of war had weakened his once great nation. At first The Great War that had embroiled so many countries began driving Germany's economy into the dirt, soon enough people were unable to pay for a ticket to the circus, so they began doing them for free. Living off what little donations were given to them. But that had only been a taste of what war would bring.

For many years after WWI they had continued serving people for free, Germany's people were strong, they would bounce back. Or so was thought, however as the second great war rolled around Axel feel into great despair. How could anyone allow such inconceivable acts to be done unto others? By the good of their hearts, the circus began taking in all people, fugitives, the poor, those with nowhere else to turn.

However, their kindness would see them undone, eventually every last one that Axel had known was rounded up and placed into ghettos or camps. And there our strongman remained, that is, until he met The Traveller.

Jennifer Wimbleton
Originally from 1980s Britain, Jennifer is the daughter of an Oxford English professor. Inheriting none of his brains, but some of his wit, she joined our adventure as the result of a playful lark into a wardrobe prompted by a recent re-reading of a certain rather whimsical book from her childhood. Not two steps in and she'd managed to trip and fall face first into a dreadful pile of clothing, not washed the half of them. Fortunately a nice gentleman offered a hand which she graciously accepted and proceeded to brush herself off and introduce herself like a proper lady should. It did cross her mind to wonder what the gentleman was doing in her closet, and whether skulking about inside was entirely becoming of a gentleman. But, then it occurred to her that she didn't seem to be in the closet anymore, and perhaps she was the one who should apologise? In any case, he was so apologetic for...whatever it was he said he'd done that brought her to wherever this was, that she couldn't quite bring herself to hold it against him. And so this turned to that, and here we are.

Cheerful and friendly, but slightly dumb, blonde female human. Tends to misplace sonic monkey wrenches, get kidnapped by interdimensional conquerers, and generally find herself in the right place at the wrong time, yet always seems to find a way to not get squished through no particular effort of her own.

A human male from a universe where the Roman Empire expanded into space and became the Terran Empire. Titus, born on earth to a prestigious family, trained in the arts of war and became the Centurion of a Marine Infantry Century (1,000).

Titus is of average height, muscular, with an light brown skin tone. His countenance does not match his age, while he has the face of a 25 year-old man, he is actually over fifty years old. His personality is like that of a father, stern but caring. He spends his free time improving himself, physically or mentally. Not the most talkative man, but when he does he has a mildly deep voice and usually speaks calmly. 
       
He usually wears his power armor, which resembles futuristic version of the lorica segmentata. On his left hip is a sheathed gladius, the sheath itself has a line of golden light running down the middle, which seems to be floating half an inch over the sheath itself. The rest of the armor is similar, with the numbers and letters floating slightly above the material itself.

Appearance: Rajita is a woman of Indian descent, who stands at about 5'2. She tends to wear traditional Indian clothing, such as the sari and choli.
Background: Rajita comes from the 1000s, from India. She was a princess of the Chera kingdom, which is in modern-day Kerala, in India. However, Rahita always had a thirst for adventure, and due to this, eventually ran off with some money, and a few of her servants.However, while travelling, to who knows where, she encountered the Traveller, and hearing his offer of adventure, decided to tag along for the ride.

Gender: F
Age:Looks to be around 20, plus or minus 2, but who knows?
Race:Kitsune-Tsuki/some-infinitesimal-parts-dragon.
Homeworld:High-Fantasy replicating modern technology.  She lived in a castle before the Traveller happened.
Description:Avi, who stands incredibly tall at 6'0, wears a simple black robe, in contrast with her pale face, silver-grey eyes, and snow-white hair.
Also, she has fox ears and a tail.  Though it's rare for anyone to see the tail.

Powers:An assortment of minor magics, ranging most of physics (kinetic force, heat, cold, electricity, light, darkness, gravity) and also into flesh-shaping (enough to slowly close wounds) and metamagic (the better to see what she's doing with her magic).  She also, as part of her nature, has a sense for emotions.

She has a mana-pooling artifact, a present from one of her parents, which is the only way she uses magic for the moment.  It has a relatively low throughput.  She has some books on magic theory, and some stuff describing, in vague terms, scientific theories far in advance of what her world would normally suggest should exist on such a world, almost like if there was an offworlder from a higher-tech world who wrote what they could recall down.  She also has what appears to be a stone rod with a trigger on it, which is actually either a kinetic impactor or a taser depending on which safety is off.  It has a stylized A etched into it, which radiates magic to anybody who can see such things.  The not-a-gun is generally concealed within a hidden pocket in her robe.

Why is she here?:The Traveller stopped off at her homeworld for a moment, to get his bearings, and she jumped in, seeking adventure.

Personality:Avi's primarily excited to finally be getting out of the castle she spent her days in for the past 18+ years, and further excited for all the new emotions and sights she'll see while adventuring.  So basically, she's a fangirl.  A weird, magic fangirl.  With lots of funny stories.
