Spring and Summer of 1937 So, after what may be the quietest New Years celebration in the records of the Department (Not for lack of trying, they just coudent invite asmany people this year), work started back up.
First up, for whatever reason, we have the Gun engineering team and their redesign of the AATSM1933 'HiLo'. Dont give me that look, when you are totally redoing the mechanism and ammo its a redesign. No, seriously, dont give me that look. I got enough of a headache from the team itself, and I dont need you to make it worse. Half of them made the silly thing.
Well, needless to say, it was a rather quick job on their part. After taking one of the older versions of the HiLo (From before the autoloader was added), changing the loading mechanism to use a horizontal block breach, and then working out munitions, we have the C-F-M1937 'LoGo'. It has a lower range, slightly lower weight, very slightly lower RoF, and requires a combined crew of six. Its also worse in most respects than the ATHM1933.
Cannon-Field-Model of 1937 'LoGo'
Caliber: 105mm
Barrel Length: 5250mm (50 calibers)
Breech: Horizontal Sliding Breach block
RoF: 12 RPM
Barrel+Breech Weight: 2500kgs
Total installation including mount & traverse: 10500kgs
effective range at 0 degrees elevation, full powder charge: 4500m
Crew Required: 3 (for the gun itself, entire crew of 6)
Cost: 4ton steel, 4ton al per batch, batch of 3(generic factory)
Oh, they said to tell you lot that you better get someone else to redesign it next time.
And now, the Electronics team, because why the hell not. They, along with the Materials team, where tasked with creating varients of the POAC-B for a number of things.
So, first up on what they managed to make, the POAC-B-C, which is a PAOC-B with the passenger area chopped off and left open, which makes the whole thing look rather odd. They also installed a small crane for offloading cargo, along with various other cargo related guff.
Next, we have the POAC-B-C(F), which is what you get when you install a armored fueltank to the cargo variant. The crane is still there, and is rigged up to refuel stuff. Sadly, the extra mass of the fuel tank has slowed it down some compared to the basic cargo variant. Due to the work needed to install the thing it requires eigther being built in the factory or a fair wack of time in a workshop, so dont think of it as being an instantly swapable thing.
Third up, we have the POAC-B-M, which is a POAC-B with an EAM M1932 thrown into the troop compartment, along with some ammo storage.
And finally, the POAC-B-C, which is what you get when you take a 87.6mm field gun and dump it into a POAC-B. Armed with the ATHM1933 due to the smaller version of the HiLo not being ready yet, the vehicle weighs as much as the PAOC-H with none of the armor. It does contain that big-ole gun designed for use in a tank though.

Next up, we have most of the Materials team, sans the three dudes they sent to the Electronics team who where told to bugger off, wandered into a bar and spent the rest of the period drunk as can be.
Anyways, they where put to work developing a system of bodyarmor and carrying equipment for infantry in combat. Which, despite having three people working on it, they somehow manage to do. The resulting items, which are under the loveley general headings of E-I-W-M1937 and E-I-V-M1937.

So, the EIW, or facilitators, are a set of pouches of various sizes designed to be clipped together, to a vest rig, or to the splinter vest listed below, normally made of tough cloth with plastic buttons(dont heat them). Pouch variants include: Generic Equipment, Stripper, Optical(for the marksmen, made of leather), Loose Rounds, SM1911/34 magazines, SM1911/34 Drums, SMM1934 magazines, and Small Filters.
Counts as a generic item, batch size of 300 (abstracted sets FTW)
Generic factories count as specialized.
Equipment-Infantry-Vest-Model of 1937
The EIV, or "That blasted heavy hot piece of shite" is a large, rather bulky thick woolen vest designed to cover the entirety of the torso, the groin, and the neck. The inside portion of it consists almost entirety of pockets that thin steel plates can be slotted into(each covering part of the next) inorder to increase further its ballistic protection. The outside of it contains a number of built in pockets, and attachment points for facilitators.
According to the troops who have been training with them prior to getting shipped to Spain, its a rather warm thing. According to the troops in Spain, its hotter than hell and a serious medical risk.
One batch costs 1ton steel and makes 300. Generic factories count as specialized.
Next up, the Aeronautics team gets to work on a new interceptor that is designed to dogfight instead of boom-and-zoom. The I-P-M1937 is... interesting. After the team managed to get two Hurricane engines working together they went and created their monstrosity. But, hey. It has tons of cannons in the nose, and all that extra engine power let them add in some armor... Hell, it has more armor than some of the PAOCs. Its pilots are already calling it the flying tank. In addition, the design team appears to have been drunk and on something... Interesting, as the aircraft's seat can be ejected from the craft, which solves the problem of bailing out and not getting chewed up by the prop.
Interceptor-Pusher-Model of 1937 Firestorm
Armour: 8mm of nickel-molybdenum steel plate around the cockpit.
13 mm plate of nickel-molybdenum steel on the back of the seat.
2mm fire wall between the pilot and the fuel tanks.
Weapons: 2x M-1 Machineguns in wing roots with 500 belts rounds per gun.
4 X 20mm cannons in the nose with 60 round drums
Engine: 2 x "Hurricane" aero engine 1500HP
Crew: 1 pilot (Oxygen system installed)
Wingspan: 12 m
Length: 13 m
Empty weight: 3225 kg
Traits:
Reliable
Quick
Fireproof(thanks to various interesting things that where added, like self-sealing fuel tanks)
Ejector seat?!
Costs: 4x C-A-M1935(each), 2x MM1934(each), 2x AEM1933'Hurricane'(each), 2ton steel, 2 units electronic parts and 2ton al per batch
Four aircraft are made per batch(generic factory)
If you want to see what it looks like,
It looks like this thing And now, on to the world of construction. First up, we have the naval team, who was put to work on building that 1k ton drydock for that naval factory. Despite having no idea how to do architectural stuff, the managed to get it done.
Next up, Construction team 1 and Labor team A where put to work on a four line large arms factory within the giant complex-o-production. Which they get up and partly running. However, the two lines they did manage to get tooled where nabbed by the Council for the Republicans. Pricks.
Construction Team Two was put to work creating another four line monster in the complex, this time for munitions. They managed to get most of it tooled before midsummer, and the council dident grab any of the lines for Spain!
Finally, Construction team Three and the Fresh Meats where put to work creating a new factory complex! On the otherside of the capital, but still. Infact, its built right next to the airfield. Anyways, they managed to get every in the place tooled up, and, once again, the council hasent done squat to them. Amazing.
Speaking of the council and all the wonderful things they have done, they approved your request to buy more shotguns from the Americans. Sadly, the Americans are out of that particular model of shotgun. They do have plenty of their Riot variant, which lacks the bayonet lug, swing swivels, and the heat shield. Still want them?
And now, to keep things mostly moving around, we have news of the war!
With the loss of the offshore strongholds of the nationalists and the influx of men and materials, the Nationalists are, in some places, reeling.
In an effort to halt our forces they forced a naval battle, which has caused the Goby to be brought into drydock for repairs. Heavy cruisers are nasty.
In the air, the first units of Baklan bombers arrived in Spain, and proceed to inflict heavy, heavy damage to Nationalist positions. During this time a number of aircraft where lost, normally when they where hit by flak while diving. Enemy fighter aircraft typically cannot keep up, and so resort mostly to attacking while they are climbing after their attack runs, which have caused a few more losses.
In addition to our bombers, a number of the I-C-M1936-MK2's that have been made by upgrading what MK1s we had in service have been sent to Spain inorder to take care of bombers, something which they are rather good at. The low range is a massive hindrance though. In addition, the aircraft are near useless in a turn fight, but when you have all that speed, well, why bother turning?
During land combat this year we learned that anti-tank guns are the bane of the POAC's existence, though they dont often manage to hit. In addition, our T-18s where withdrawn to our lines after three where lost to anti-tank cannon fire during an attack on Oviedo, which is now partially captured by the Republican forces.

Bychok(damaged)
The head of the naval arm wouldent mind some longer range weapons to deal with any more heavy cruisers we come across.
The head of the Armored arm asks if they can get a replacement for the T-18.
The head of the Defense arm wonders if you guys are gonna finish the defenses for the main complex.
The overall head of the Armed Forces like all those new variants for the POAC, particularly the cargo and mortar variants. They also are excited by the Firestorm. The LoGo confuses them.
The council is wondering if you plan on replacing more equipment so they can send it to the Spanish Republicans. In particular, aircraft.
The Baklan is safer in level flight than a dive, thanks to the facts that its HEAVY and that dives are risky anyways.
That interceptor shure is fast. It also is nearly useless from its range.
The optics the Snipers use are not that good...
We hear you lot are making storage poutches? When can we get some?
That vest is HOT. Good protection, but HOT. Too HOT.
OooOOOOooooOOOoooHHhh, big gun on a POAC...
OooOOOOooooOOOoooHHhh, mortar carriers...
Bychoks do not like mini-battleships...
AhahahaAHAHAhahahHAHA, you guys did what to the HiLo? AHAHAHA!
Ammo would be nice.
I. Hate. Anti-tank guns.
New tanks would be nice.
That new fighter looks fancy... But we have to sit on rockets? What?

So, I plan on writing a short story of sorts set in Plokhoy Ostrov, would any of you lot be interested in reading it?
Details on the POAC-B variants should be done soonish
You lot want to wait on trench variants of the shotguns, or are riot ones fine?
