D3.1 Minor redesign of the POAC
D3.2 Minor redesign and variants of the POAC
D4 RADAR system
D5 Attempt to fix the current interceptor's problems.
(Most importantly, belt feeding cannons) To improve the engine we could:
Redesign the engine's air intake to fit a two-stage supercharger, improve efficiency and saving engine power.
Add better cooling, some big air-to-liquid intercoolers should cool down the intake air.
Still this will add weight and drag.
Add nitrous oxide or methanol-water injection
Add turbochargers and make the engine twincharged
D6 Frigate
Mass-produceable frigate. Mounts a D4 radar and a hydrophone (plus radio, of course), two of the destroyer's HiLo turrets, four 40mm AAA pieces, and ten 20mm AAA guns. Leave space for an anti-sub rocket projector. Aim for a mass of about 1500t. Uses our AEM M1932 motor for propulsion, with a target speed of about 24 knots (using four motors, probably).
D7 Anti-Submarine Rocket Projector
An anti-submarine rocket system.
The complete system consists of a launcher base mounting 24 rockets on guidance rails. On firing command, these rockets are fired automatically in a ripple, landing on a fixed point, with a fixed scatter, about 200-300 meters in front of the firing vessel.
Each rocket consists of a propulsion unit, a warhead of 15-20kg and a detonator. This detonator is armed after firing when heading through the ocean surface, and detonates on contact.
Yes, this is basically a rocket-based hedgehog system.
ConstructC1: Place 40mm AA and HiLo guns in and around our industrial complex in the event of an airborne attack.
C2: One two-Line Munitions Factory
C3: One two-line Large Arms Factory
C3.1: Two two-line Large Arms Factories
C4: Radar stations
C5: C5: Naval drydock factory
A factory for mass-producing D5 Frigates. Includes a drydock large enough for it, and a linked factory.
AcquireA1: Acquire sea mines for development of our own.
OtherF1: Coleslaw's factory plan
F2: Use M-1 MGs in place of the Lewis MGs wherever lacking. For example, on our small ships and Baklan.
