Dwarf Fortress 0.27.169.33d Released
« on: November 30, 2007, 06:56:00 pm »

Download (Click refresh on your browser if it doesn't show up)

Changes

Fixed a few of the serious problems (one of the trade crashes, resting injury loops, waterskin filling at wells forever).  See the dev log for other minor changes.

Coral wasn't working this time around, so I have my own link as Mirror 1 and 3 other helpful people as Mirrors 2, 3 and 4.

An admittedly slow week, but I should be moving into my own place over the weekend...  that might imply a slow next week as well, but when I'm settled I should be quite a bit more productive.

For some reason, this version and this version alone fails to run in Wine, for me. Anyone else with this issue? It gives me a bunch of missing DLL errors and quits.
And as far as a linux user, I'm rather noobish, so I'm probably just failing to do something basic.

I can confirm that the new version IS working with Wine.  I am using Wine 0.9.49 on Ubuntu Gutsy, FWIW.

From what I can ascertain, for some reason it doesn't run in Ubuntu Feisty Fawn (7.04). Time to upgrade to Gutsy Gibbon. I feel so silly typing out the full names. Heh.

EDIT: Wait, it works under 7.04? Maybe something about my desktop hardware. Works fine on my laptop... We'll see, I guess.

HA! I was going to say that I kept downloading 33c for some reason, I looked at the target, and sure enough all of the mirrors targeted 33c. Then I remembered that I have about 2 Gb of chache... Now I've got it!

Works for me in Linux.  However, unpacked over the previous version.  Is yours a fresh install?

Works just fine (so far only tested to the title menu) in Wine for me. I've got Ubuntu Gutsy and Wine 0.9.49. Speaking of which Wine 0.9.50 just got released. Should be hitting the repositories in a day or so I hope.

Windows XP:

1. Extract the game into a new folder.
2. Open up the new version.
3. Close the game.
4. Find the old version's main directory, go into the data\save\ directory.
5. Copy your save folder over to the new version's data\save\ directory. Delete the world you created in step two if it's a problem.

There's no need to create a new world. Just copy the previous version's "save" file into the data directory of the new one. You might also want to copy over any tilesets, graphics, etc. that you want to use. You will have to modify the init to match the old one, as well. You could just copy it over, but this can screw things up if options have been added or removed since the version you are upgrading from.
