Synthesis achieved! Woot! Sorry about forgetting to put in the species name, and after I suggested it originally, too :( Ozarck has gained an achievement: Follow Your Own Advice, Dummy! :P

Ixid farmers: cultivate any species that can exist in the shallow caves.
Dirigid Riders: Determine if any of the shallow caves is suitable as a breeding ground for the Ixid and Dirigids. Also, begin carrying bits of various things to repel, bribe, or fend off predators - bits of food, nasty smelling stuff, small rocks, sticks, etc.

((Shadowhammer, you got any thoughts on ongoing evolution? I have a few ideas, but I feel like it's pretty open ended right now: camouflage, greater senses, vocals, speed, more radiation resistance, some kind of defensive screen, like the octopus ink (I'm still trying to go completely harmless, but I keep trying to add some kind of defense too, lol. Originally I had wanted them to be so harmless and tasteless - non nutritional that everything eventually just ignored them.), maybe heightened energy consumption so that, again, they are less nutritional to others, or I could evolve toward a sort of photosynthesis with the filter feeding cilia ... maybe even edge more toward tool use. I think that has been a direction I have been going anyway, what with the twelve arms and throwing rocks and grabbing Dirigids and whatnot.))

Continue bringing the worm food, and evolving psychic powers. Attempt to establish communications with the worm and Yrb (cave pictures, perhaps?). Explore the surrounding area.

Whelp, this thing is sapient. Good luck, Yrb player. Also, didn't I say that the Borak would kill the herbivore?

((With the apparently rampant predation on my species, I should probably go for stronger defenses. I'm thinking maybe some sort of repellent gas emissions or dust or something. And yeah, I think tool use is a good way for your Ixid to go. Want the dirigids to share their toughened epidermis with you? It'll only cost me one point and will probably be pretty helpful, especially to help protect the Ixid with the thin bones.

@Inithis: can I leave an evolution and then pick it back up later? Or will I have to start from scratch?))

Dirigid-Ixid surface bros: help the Ixid scout those shallow cave things.
Other Dirigids: Fly higher. You're more radiation resistant than most predators, so fly close to the roof. Stop dying so much. Also, do some primitive predator analysis. What's killing you the most? How are they killing you?
Finish evolving size.

((I thought that I had another evolution point saved up?))

Eyul: Continue setting up ambushes but always have at least one of the pack as a runner so of the ambush fails then they can communicate why to the other packs.

Kuyeth: Attempt to try an take Yrb spores to these more dangerous areas to establish new Yrb colonies. Stop however if this harms the Yrb colony.

A collection of Kuyeth leave the Yrb colonies and instead search for other psychic plants to symbiosis with.

Evolution: Stop growing any larger, instead develop a slight psychic connection with the Yrb.

Yrb

Make physical connection with Hotward colonies, seed with cells capable of forming receptors.

Evolution: Drawing on impulses from the psychically positive Borak and developing Kuyeth connection, attempt to mimic and develop a connection capable of perceiving their sense of 'touch' and proprioception (where their bodies are in relation to themselves).

[Touch seems to be the most basic of senses, so it feels like a good starting point to start on proxy sensation.]

sure, share some hardened epidermis with me when it's convenient. I might later spike my fur a bit, or add a nauseating chemical, like musk or something. But, for now:

Ixid evolution: Increase object manipulation (appendage dexterity/strength, perhaps?)

Hmm... I think the Borak will perform one more action.

After a long council discussion, a consensus had been reached.

A solitary Borak, watched by the rest of the tribe, sat, upside-down, on an especially large patch of Yrb. Then, he dropped all of his mental defences, and even actively helped the Yrb in. From this day forth, he would no longer be known by his former name. He was something else now. He was... The Psychic Emissary!

Perform this ritual with the worm and an egg as well. The Yrb care not for the safety of the individual, only the group, so finding (or selecting) a volunteer should not be a problem; he will accept his fate.
