Can't engrave memorial slabs.

Hey all, I've got a dozen blank slabs in my furniture stockpile but keep getting job cancellations with "need unengraved slab" when I try to memorialize dwarves.  Anyone else experience this?  Just lost a ton of dwarves whose bodies are unrecoverable for a very, very stupid reason...

Do you have stockpile links setup? That's the usual issue.

A)

Is the stockpile accessible? If not. Make it so.

B)

Is the stockpile linked to anyother workshops the like? If so. Unlink it.

C)

Perhaps you could just try making more of them.

I just had this a while ago. Check your stockpile links. Might be set up when you was last fiddling with it (yes it was me)

I didn't have any stockpile links, but I finally got it working.  Made a dozen more slabs, made a new craftsdwarf shop, and a new slab stockpile linked to it.  Oddly enough, I'd already tried that and it didn't work before. 

As for what happened.... I'm building a 9-embark long mega-bridge between two continents over the ocean.  The ocean freezes in winter.  I've got my war dogs pastured to my entrance hallway for security.  Anyhow, I'm building the bridge and tab down to sea level and see a dozen of my dwarves running across the ice.  Big WTF moment.  Check what they're doing, and all of them are pen/paturing war dogs and puppies.  Seems like a bunch of war dogs got loose of the pasture somehow and decided to explore the other continent for no reason. 

Long story short, thaw came 4 frames later.

Tell me how many of them "went missing". I engrave slabs to invaders that are noteworthy. Cannot tell you how many titans "went missing" after having their heads chopped off.
