Can I join?

Sure you can join. Just grab a mud client, create account and type 'pledge dwarven' and we will take care of you. :)

what exactly does resetting a skill do?

What exactly do you mean?

Which parts get reset, how does this allow you to progress, when should you do it?

help ability points
help caps

gives you lots of info about it. basically you can reset your spent abilites on level 50, 75 and 100. to reallocate them. you can do it when you're sure what abilities you want to unlock permanently for your character. you dont need to spend the reset points tho, if i remember correctly. the skill level is also resettable (puts a thing like trade or battle back to 0)

I've started playing, not sure how much I will still but here's how to split EMPIRE chat out with Mudlet (mostly because I had to wade through docs to figure out something this simple x-x):

1. Create a script with the following:
Code: [Select]
openUserWindow("userWindowChat")
2. Create a trigger, and set it to trigger on [EMPIRE and begin line of substring from the dropdown. In the trigger's code window, put:
Code: [Select]
selectCurrentLine()
copy()
appendBuffer("userWindowChat")

You can add more [* stuff as the other trigger lines to easily add other channels, I'm pretty sure. If you want different windows, it should work with extra 'openUserWindow' commands, and different appendBuffer targets. If you open windows you don't want, there's probably a way to delete them but I only found hideWindow(windowname) x-x

Ah, edit: adding a couple of 'deleteLine()' commands to the trigger script will kill the line/the newline in the main window if desired, but you'll still get a new prompt <_<.

Wow it takes a long time to dig a trench.  To be fair, I guess, I am making a new river.

In game.  Any guide people make for the game is modified and turned/integrated into a help file.

I joined up. Made a stone axe, and about to make a cabin. Had to get off cause real life stuff going on. But looks like its gonna be a lot of fun :)

(edit: What needs doing in the city/empire? Once I make a cabin, I might get a bit lost in what to do :P)

If you guys have Android mobile devices, there's this thing called Blowtorch on the Play Store which is a MUD Client, so if you're frequently busy or waiting, etc, you can play on the go. It also includes functionality to create aliases and buttons.

I have discovered that we have a colossal red dragon dwelling close to Ancientports. I attempted to engage the beast and was slain in one hit.

Hereby, I propose that all dwarfs be mustered to fight such a beast! Our allies called upon as well!
