Software Inc. - Game Dev Tycoon (on crack) + Sims

Software Inc.

So I stumbled upon this game and its pretty impressive. Pretty much takes the concept of Game Dev Tycoon and adds a ton of depth (company stocks, in depth employee management, employee personalities, etc) and makes a nice little package of a great simulation game.

It is currently in early release alpha and is being developed by one person. Despite this it is pretty fleshed out and well made and already includes modding support.

Pricing is currently $12 and will increase over time (12$ in alpha, 14$ about half-way through the alpha, 16$ during beta and finally 18$ at release)

Bit of a bump, but this game is actually really interesting.
It's like Game Dev Tycoon if it were 1000x more in depth. I was able to expand my business to have another independent team that worked independently of me!
And then there's apparently parking and servers, which sounds awesome.

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

Lets hope this turns out well...

More like Mad Games Tycoon with expanded building. Do it keep bad features like your programmer loosing half a month to go toilet?

I love those kind of games, did the impulse buy thing.

anyway, I imagine someone in the sector could totally do a let's play like scott manley does for kerbal space program, except it will be gantt charts all day and meeting where stockolders plusvalize the synergies

edit: any idea why my founder isn't working?

Yes lol...

I love the amount of depth and I really like the automation of teams...

I tend to set up an OS team to pump out an amazing OS every few years and then have multiple teams that make specific programs for that version of the OS

Bought the game, and now feel like kind of an idiot for not being able to figure out how to rotate furniture.

The status is shown on the top right. There is a blue bar that you will see while working on whatever stage. That blue line is the "minimum" they expect. It usually tells you in words (bad, good, great etc) what quality it is if you were to bump it up to the next stage at that moment

seems there is too much automation. I've had to do couple contracts, first visual tool, then from there I just had enough for a 4 person team. after those developed the first product, I could afford two dedicated marketers and to send the founder on a six month course it seems it snowballs too fast

Really? Because I've found it a constant struggle just to break even while having any employees. It would probably be less so if they didn't spend up until midday pottering around for coffee.

really, dunno what I am doing differently but the average software from the 4 man team gets in 200k, and the software from the founder 80k a pop.

oh, but I have the founder designing and the developer developing.

toying now with automation... it seems that if I enable project management, the project lead just create a flurry of lowest quality ever crapware, you can literally see the project being done one each month, how I put it off zynga mode?
