Cheesecake, can Tech-Use be used interchangeably with Trade: Armourer when applying modifications? I ask because a) Tech-Use can be used to make the items, b) removing modifications - a harder process - uses Tech-Use, and c) the Frontier World's home world bonus says "A frontier world character gains a +20 bonus to Tech-Use tests when applying personal weapon modifications [...]".

Edit: interchangeably, not interchangeable. Damn brain.

Yup. (On another note, I'm enrolled in college!)

So, howmuch can I mod my flying helper? Could I, for instance, install a system allowing me to take microbead messages and send them out as vox messages? Put a small autogun on it? Scanners of various sorts? add features that other servoskulls have?

Servo-skulls are small and not the kind of thing I'd put in combat duty. I suppose adding an auspex (one of the few things Imperium does right right, since it's an everything-scanner) and small vox-relay could work, though the auspex is probably more useful than the relay since if everyone gets a micro-bead we'll only need the relay if we split up and end up too far away from each other. Unless by sending vox messages you mean something like adding a laud hailer capable of broadcasting what it receives from the bead, which is quite doable. The auspex is compact, but a laud-hailer would probably require making the skull better at floating.

The autogun is too big and has too much of a kick to be mounted on it. I'd say a laspistol or another pistol weapon at most, but even then you should probably focus on utility, like a vox-operated stablight or glow-globe on top of that auspex. Acquiring the parts themselves should be one availability lower than the object we want to add to the skull...

I meant autopistol, not autogun. Brain fart in naming it though.

By vox relay, I mean allowing us to send comms to, say a ship in orbit from the ground.

Currently, I am thinking of a microbead relay, a vox relay, lights, vid relay/capture, and some storage.

And an "arm", if it dosent already have one. Because dropping grenades on cultists.

You might be better off acquiring a second servo-skull to divide the features between them. One for surveillance and recon (auspex, pict recorder, night vision...) - which would probably make better use of a tiny arm - and another to stay away from any danger and keep the vox-relay. A third one for storage too, probably, and even then it wouldn't hold a lot.

Contacting a ship in orbit with something a servo-skull can carry around would be trickier. Most of those devices are human backpack-sized unless you're willing to search for best-craftsmanship ones - meaning either very high-quality stuff or xeno/archaeotech.

Ill probably think that out IC, and go and ask for stuff to make a new servo-thing.

As for the vox unit, noone said it had to be entirely inside the servoskull, right? or even partially in it?

Well, it seems vox-casters are smaller than I remembered! Four kilograms can be carried around by a servo-skull without the need of adding extra grav-mechanisms to it.

And Tarkhal will give his opinion on that himself, no worries.

Addendum: moar RP.

Feel free to talk to Tesera. I just can't find an IC reason for her to talk.

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

Twin: Seeker leans more towards investigation than social, though it seems like it can take care of social scenarios fine despite not having the Hierophant's instant Charm/Intimidate/Command success button. And did you decide on a Resistance Talent to take? Fear is always a solid choice, followed by Fire/Heat to help with Ag Tests to avoid catching on fire from flamer attacks.

She'd probably grab Tarkhal's attention immediately if her servo-skull was around, but it wasn't included in your initial post so I supposed it was stowed away. Is it in her locker? Still, edited a question in for Tesera.

Due to not having a rulebook, I was unaware of the existence of resistance talents. I think Fire/Heat would be good. Don't want to set myself on fire.

No, you can't set yourself on fire whilst using a flamer. It'd work to protect you from enemy attacks or environmental dangers.

And since you're our character with the Command skill, in a combat situation you might be expected to succeed Fear Tests and use the Terrify (that's just the name, you can flavor it as something else) special use of the Command skill to make anyone who failed their tests snap out of it. I'll help you through it if it ever becomes necessary.
