Christchurch, New Zealand is objectively the best.

With all seriousness, though, it's a great place to live, coming from a resident.  Although if you find yourself on the conservative end of the political spectrum, you might be uncomfortable with the liberal bent of the city.

Haven't we just about purged the libertarians by now? You guys have just about converted me, even.
Wait, you live in Portland too?

Now to look up what the hell libertarian means... but if it's in any way conservative, they probably left.  Portland is a solidly blue city.

As an added plus, we have incredibly robust public transit for a city of our size.  That's how I get to and from school every day.
I live in portland~

Edit: I must be tired. I wrote "life" rather than "live"

I don't really think I can recommend any of the cities I've lived in/frequented. Pocatello is in Idaho, and Idaho is full of crazy people and that peculiar strain of red that makes even other red states leery of it (nice natural surroundings though). The demerits of LA are widely known. Pomona is fairly sketchy. Irvine is way too expensive, and the job market's not so good (really pretty/clean though, pretty close to the coast).

Yeah I'm kind of interested in moving somewhere else as well. I wonder if any B12ers are seeking a roomie (I can cook, clean, and draw you pretty pictures! :D).
Coincidentally, I am looking for a new roomie. Rent's not too bad but see complaints about Irvine above.

Too flat too cold too quaked.

Wellington is best~
I can actually tell where I am from the hills so I'm not always lost.
Even though their uni doesn't offer good engineering courses :l

Edited for spelling mistake

Wellington is terrible. Even the government wants to get out of there.

I live in near Christchurch, so that's, like, plus a billion points.

Millington Tennessee is pretty nice, not sure about jobs but it's a nice place (as long as you stay on the military base side of the town). Not on the base just the parts around it. Some of the 'hood' areas are sketchy but most of the town is nice.

Cryx confirmed for living in a post-apocalyptic zombie wasteland.

No I'm confused as to why Millington Tennessee instantly meant zombies
Am I missing something here?

I was going off of 'having to stay near the military' ---> 'zombies', and then noticed that what I said could be misconstrued as 'black people' ---> 'zombies' :D

A lot of places are developing quick in Georgia, so there's any number of places you could find a good job for good pay, with only moderate amounts of gang activity.
