If it doesn't work 9 and 6 and 1

If it doesn't work 9 and 2 and 1

If it doesn't work 9 and 19 and 1

You try various iterations but nothing changes until you continuously start turning it. After the 3rd turn, the gear beings to spin violently and turns bright blue. Dust begins to fall from the ceiling and there is a deep rumbling sound. Suddenly you can't find your balance as the entire room rotates 90 degree clockwise. The right wall is now the floor, the floor is now the left wall, the front wall and back entrance are intact. However, the most important thing, is that the ceiling (which was apparently open) has now become the right wall and has revealed a passage.

Logan picks himself up, helps anyone else who needs a hand to their feet, and looks into the newly-revealed passage with a torch. He doesn't cross the threshold on his own though.

Arvin had been hanging onto one of the rings, and had avoided a tumble.

"Well that's one way forward. Can't help but feel we're missing something, though...what's the point of all this rot on the walls if you just have to turn the crank?"

Action: Help Logan explore the new passageway

"It could be a distraction," Logan said. "Or maybe a warning. What if we turned it too far and the ceiling became the floor? We might fall to our deaths. I figure next time we come here, let's try turning that crank the other way around."

(( What indeed? MUHAHAHAhaha *cough cough ahem* ))

This passageway is different from entrance, it is curved and coiled, snakelike. It goes on for a very long time until you reach large chamber with long rectangular table in the center. There are 12 dusty chairs on each side of the table and one at the far end, which stands a bit taller than the rest. There is a chandelier which hangs very high up in the ceiling, you only notice it by the fact that the glass is reflecting light. It is not lit.

According to the map this must be the passage on the right, which leads to the dining hall. There should be a hallway leading out of this room that leads to a central intersection and then from there, there are two ways to the treasure room:

1. Through some sort of maze or labyrinth
2. Through a minor tomb, containing Zedeska's pet (no details as to what that could be, but it must be a guardian of some sort)

There are several other rooms you can visit as well. (Details by request)

Logan looks for a way to light the chandelier or, failing that, a way to lower it.

It is too far up to reach with your hands. But perhaps if you stood on someone's shoulders?

There is no discernable way to lower it, you can't tell how it hangs, but its probably some sort of chain that is clasped to the ceiling.

Kala frowned.
"Yes, we've missed something there. I'm sure of it. Perhaps the scytale would have revealed a warning for something ahead."

Kala peeks into the other rooms without going through the doorways.

(( What other rooms? There is only the hallway from this room (the dining hall) that leads to the intersection. Also, keep in mind according to the map, the entrance passage was supposed to converge at an intersection with three different paths. One leading directly to the treasure (through the baths), the other two having more circuitous routes. ))

I meant from the intersection (there are several paths at the intersection discounting the hallway leading into it. I've described 2 paths which take you to the treasure: Maze and Pet tomb. The other paths lead to "several other rooms". By details I meant, details from the map. )

Well there is really only one path which is the hallway which leads to the intersection. Here let me draw a simple map:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Keep in mind this is a simplified map, in the actual map the maze and pet path are several rooms later. And the alternate paths (from the intersection) are a series of connected rooms. This particular tomb is quite large (as is to be expected for famous royalty).

Action: Huh, what's the chandelier made out of exactly? Stand on Logan's shoulders and look closer if needed. Maybe they're DIAMONDS!

(( What indeed? MUHAHAHAhaha *cough cough ahem* ))

((Meh. :P We weren't getting any context, clues, or progress on the wall thing. Typing 'nothing happens' over and over again, is great if you want us to quit trying.))
