Action: Look to the gobbledegook left. Is it possible it means anything upside down or backwards? What are the characters all together? Could they be unscrambled somehow?

Also, take a look down that tiny hole in the fountain. Can I make out anything?

((Also, I don't think it's invisible ink either. :P Someone needs to try that crank in the middle of the gear-thing eventually. I think the room might rotate around or something. There's no other context we can work with except for the riddle which I can't make any sense of. If it's Scytale, I can't figure out how to put any of the letters together. Still working on it...))

The gibberish on the left wall,  seems to be a random string characters, with no spaces in between. Here is what it reads:

PAOOVLUEDRSIMONERKTKIHILALLTLEWSRHISIFRCMIHIVKSEITRLAOLKFSELWNOHWVEHENIASCNPHDIILLSILHFEOEDTPAIONNUDLRTOMAVEKETERHNSA
CTPAOOVLUEDRSIMONERKTKIHILALLTLEWSRHISIFRCMIHIVKSEITRLAOLKFSELWNOHWVEHENIASCNPHDIILLSILHFEOEDTPAIONNUDLRTOMAVEKETERHN

RHNSASCTPAOOVLUEDRSIMONERKTKIHILALLTLEWSRHISIFRCMIHIVKSEITRLAOLKFSELWNOHWVEHENIASCNPHDIILLSILHFEOEDTPAIONNUDLRTOMAVE
KETERHNSASCT

Looking through the hole in the fountain, you cannot see anything. It is too small to peer through and make anything out.

(( BTW, it kinda goes without saying but please don't try to decrypt codes using things your characters would not otherwise have access to (i.e computers). It cheapens the experience. ))

Inspect the statue next to the fountain (the one of the woman pouring water into it)

Inspect the statue next to the fountain (the one of the woman pouring water into it)

(( The statue is the fountain, or at least part of it ))

The woman is naked. She holding a round gourd over her shoulder, in an angle that suggests that whatever liquid lies inside would fall into the base of the fountain -that is if fountain were standing upright. As it is now, the liquid would probably dribble out around her chest, and even then, only if the gourd was full. Other than the gourd there is nothing of note about the statue, it is well-made but time has taken its toll and several places are chipped and cracked.

((It's kind of pointless if we cheat. No reason to even play if we can't figure it out...))

((I wouldn't even know where to start in breaking it, even with a computer. And it would be OOC for my character to just get it.))

Exactly. But I say it just to be sure everyone is on the same page.

((OOC: Well, I'm getting lots of real words but it doesn't seem to be any sort of message that makes sense. I'm sure some are deliberate fakes/misleading clues.

Particularly on multiples of three, you get 'pour me that which kills when spilled and taken caves or kills if mistaken which shot in lovers cave or kills if mistaken which'. etc, etc. It continues on and on for like the whole line. I know the misspellings are numbers 9 and 15 on their lines~or 9/26 if count them as one line~so maybe...you have to add them together...or count them apart in order...and 1 fits in there somewhere. Or it could have something to do with the missing/misspelled letters, M and C.

Meh. So much drudge work. I hope you guys have better luck than me, or we'll never open the way forward. Which means the game will end and bahihs will have to go find a forum with smarter players.))

((Nope. Go ahead if you want. :P I really would have liked to figure out this stuff before we mess with levers, but given how my week is going I don't really care, frankly...also, I don't see how that will open any of the doorways, but go ahead. Try turning it to 9 o'clock. See what happens.

I do suggest everyone get a nice grip on one of the rings before you try, tho.))

Action: If someone messes with the lever btw, make sure I'm holding onto one of the rings. I'm sure the rest of my allies can do so without direction input, as well.

(( No lever. I think you mean the circular crank? ))

Arvin adjusts his hat.

"Well, something's bound to happen, right? I wanted to see if we could figure these letters before we touched anything...but, if you're going to, you might as well get it over with. I'm going to grab hold of something in case the room flips about."

(( It's hilarious how much you're overthinking this. I'll just say that you're on the right track. ))

((I overthought the last puzzle too. Now I'm guessing it's either 'Which', or the literal letter 'N', added to mistake.

Of course, we have no question to which we were seeking an answer to, even if those are close. You might as pull the winch, wolfu, and see what happen.))

Turn it to the 9 o'clock position. If possible, hold onto one of the rings at the same time. If that's not possible, hold very tightly to the winch.

You turn the crank. Initially it's a bit difficult, probably due to decades of rust and unuse, but then it quickly becomes loose. You turn it until it reaches the 270 degrees mark and hold it there. Nothing happens.
