((Alright, so poisons are the GM's screw you weapon in tomb raider, got it :P

"Oh, ah, looks like that's a...Necrotic Deathwort poison Logan's got there...you're telling me you didn't specifically buy a vial of Necrotic Deathwort antidote? Oh...too bad...also turns out the gold is fake, sorry...I need a roll for Logan's terrible mercy killing...it'll hurt more if you don't use an effort point..."

...

Also, I pm'ed twinwolf for extra help, so hopefully I can purchase rabbits blood/first aid kit. When he responds. Time for more waiting.))

((it's quite a shame we have no idea what poisons we might encounter, there are multiple things to be poisoned, and each requires a specific and expensive antidote that would also take up highly limited carrying space.

So yeah, don't get poisoned, guys. It's doom. ))

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Also did you guys miss the bit about rabbits blood? It should cover most of your antidote needs, unless you're planning on some serious expeditions into the jungle.

((Muh, while poison is baaaaad, in theory-if I understand how this game is designed-there will never be a point where you can't avoid it in the first place. This game is based on scarcity, not randomness. From a design point, being poisoned is just a price to pay for failing or dodging a challenge. I'm PRETTY sure that spider was blind back when we fought it...and at the very least, no one should have been attacking it but the armored one...))

Yup, this is exactly it. For whatever reason, as soon you guys saw the spider you had to kill it. It would have been prudent to simply avoid the spider (and you could have done so easily, as it was indeed, blind). Also, poison is poison and bad decisions are bad decisions. Having the gal with no armor charge the spider with huge fangs was a bad decision, hence the poison suddenly becomes relevant. Have the gal with armor charge the same spider, and poison is no issue.

And yes, there is very little randomness (except for loot, I tend to randomize that somewhat), you will always have some clue of what to expect. And every puzzle will always have enough clues to solve it (and enough clues to tell you what happens if you fail). Some are just more transparent than others.

Anyway, after you make your purchases (is there anyone else that wants/needs to buy something?) you can immediately head out. Since Kala has high Arcanist she can smell/taste her way to the tomb (i.e you don't need to pay a guide this time).

Pitch in 1RP for the medical supplies. "Don't want a repeat of last time..."

Arvin had packed on supplies as best he could...he didn't want to ever leave without a dose of rabbits blood every again, certainly...

"I do believe we're ready to set out." He had announced, putting on his hat. He wasn't quite sure if it was his 'lucky' hat, but he had had it for quite a long time.

Action: Using 3 RP, purchase a first aid kit and a poison cure.

Anyway, after you make your purchases (is there anyone else that wants/needs to buy something?) you can immediately head out. Since Kala has high Arcanist she can smell/taste her way to the tomb (i.e you don't need to pay a guide this time).

((We're all broke, so we couldn't afford a guide anyway. Also we can't buy anything else, so move us on ASAP. :P))

Kala was ready to set off. She should be able to follow the trails of magic, like a scent hound.

It was like smelling, except it wasn't.

All ready to go.

Once more into the breach my helpless saps dear friends!

The path to the Valley is equidistant from all points on the globe, only a day's journey from everywhere - a side effect of its strong magical concentration. Kala's sensitivity to magic is acute, and she finds the "taste trail" without much trouble. In fact, so prodigious is her skill that she manages to find a shortcut which gets you to the tomb in half the time (Master Arcanist; No food used in the journey)

The well you visited previously is nowhere to be seen. In its place is a dilapidated temple, cut into the face of a mountain. A broad stone staircase leads up to an enormous entryway that is held up by stone pillars. Looking through the entryway there is a single passage that extends deep into the bowels of the mountain. It is narrow and the darkness settles quickly as you walk through (2 Torches lit). Along the wall are etched various images, a great many of them indecent and several featuring a woman with a green headpiece who appears to be greatly enjoying the company of men...

Zdeska had...peculiar tastes.

According to the map, there should be an intersection at the end of the passage. However, after walking for about 20 minutes in the dark, you hit a dead end. This is strange, because according to the map, the central passageway should lead directly into the baths (which is directly adjacent to the treasure room) and the side passages should be open (i.e without doors).

In any case, this particular dead end is interesting. There are two large, iron rings embedded both on the wall in front of you and on the floor beneath you. Each is about the size of your head, lengthwise, and perhaps a bit a wider in diameter. Etched on wall in front is a large ornate gear , the kind you'd find in a clock-tower or watermill. A round crank, the kind used to redirect water flow in pipes lies in the center of etching.

In the center of the floor, between the two rings, partially embedded onto the floor, is a fountain, with the statue of a woman pouring water from a gourd into the base of the fountain. It's very well made, except for the fact that it is lying on its side, so that you are essentially standing on the woman's face and body and the woman's face is parallel to the ceiling. The fountain is also as dry as an old tavern after the New Sun Festival.

Last, but certainly not least, there are strange, but familiar runes along the side walls.

Understandable. It's not for everyone. Do you want me to strike your character down, or just leave her in the town? (if the former you'll have to make a new character if you play again, if the latter, you must play with that character the next time you play)

Kala observed from a distance, cautiously.
"Curious... perhaps one of my more armoured companions should try fiddling it with the rings, in case it sets off a trap. I am rather fragile."
Study the runes - why are they familiar?

Examine the rings, and the fountain.
