Action: Lift the lid with Astra's help

Note: This is not a check (yet). However, if Astra wishes to use her Athletics skill (weightlifting falls under this skill) it become one. Otherwise: Fit= 2+ 1 = 3 <DS; Failure

Try as you might, you cannot lift the coffin lid.

"Give a man a lever and he can move the world..." Arvins mutters, recalling his philosophy.

"Just have to move it an inch, then we can open it much easier. Should only take a second."

Action: Have Astra move the lid enough to put a branch through, then lever away.

((OOC: Also, will this just take a check/turn regardless of what I do? I'm pretty sure I'm wasting time, but I was hoping to save a turn by making this much easier. Like, it will only take a few seconds rather the brute force method.))

(( A turn is a turn regardless of how much time actually passes. Only the skill check matters. In this case, if you have to use the skill to move the lid (which as I showed, you do, since your fitness score is not high enough) then a turn will pass. Had your fitness been high enough to move the lid an inch or two, then you could have done this without any checks (using the lever means you don't have to a check to lift the entire lid and ensures success, otherwise that would have been an additional turn/check with risk of failure)

((Wait, lack of description on the previous turn.

Did Astra help me with that last roll? I think she did...

Also, we should get the other person in here to help lift this. Lily can wait in the dark and go crazy for awhile. Or maybe someone can carry her in here. We need a lot of auto-actions.))

Action: Okay, hey, back up. Can I fit a knife blade between the coffin lid? If so, use that a pivot and a superwood lever the lid open with ALL the people left in the party. Unless my previous action worked somehow.

Someone also needs to auto-carry lily in here so she doesn't go crazy or get eaten by monsters alone in the dark.

carry Lily

Fit = -1; Lilly is too heavy for you to carry (not to mention your hands aren't free)

She did help you and you still failed. You can a fit a knife blade in to the gap, however the depth of the edge of the lid is thicker than the length of the blade. I don't really know how you intend you use it as a pivot. In any case, if you get everyone to push on the coffin lid (honestly, just Lilly and Astra should be able to do it, the rest of you are weaklings), it should slide open enough to insert the lever. After which the task becomes considerably easier.

((Any objections if I leave Lily and join you guys?))

((We need Lily to help open the coffin.))

Action: Auto-team action to go help pick up lily. Or she can crawl her butt over here. Then lift the lid like I keep saying. Lily can probably use the ironsticks as a prop too. Do it. Stuff.

You can a fit a knife blade in to the gap, however the depth of the edge of the lid is thicker than the length of the blade. I don't really know how you intend you use it as a pivot.

((stick knife in lid, set stick against knife handle, prop/lift stick against knife/floor, knife pops open the lid an inch, stick in larger stick, stick lifts lid the rest of the way in much the same manner.

but lets do the other thing.

You know what exactly we want to do, so why waste our time? I want to get this over already. Or maybe we'll all die when we open the stupid coffin. Either way, I'm trying to build my next party already.))

Alrighty, lets fast-forward this like a bad movie.

I'm going to assume that Lilly is going to borrow Evelyn's arm and use her effort point to get to the Burial Chamber, since the effort point would've been used anyway to move the lid.

Astra and Lilly push on the lid together, it budges just enough to open a space for the Khat branch. A few heave-ho's later and the lid has been flipped over onto the floor. Thousands of years of dust and decay arises from the coffin. Inside is a white skeleton resting on silk cloth; a green, jade comb lies near the head. You grab it. Nothing happens. The comb has considerable weight to it and there are markings along the base, they are too small and too foreign for you to understand. But that matters not.

What matters is that you've gotten what you need. And everything else is now up for grabs. The only question is how to get everything out (and where to store it).

Alright, at this point, I need everyone to do some inventory management and figure out what you're going to take from the tomb. Here are the slot values (in brackets) for everything (if there is anything I missed, tell me):

-Instruments [3]
-Pottery [2]
-Jade Comb [1]
-Armoire [will require two people with free hands]
-Khat branch [1]
-Sarcophagus [Immovable (given your Fitness)]

Also keep in mind that you cannot bring anything to the surface which is bigger than the narrow hole you descended from (which is about the width of your body) and that you need at least one free hand to climb ladders.

Get looting!

EDIT: Oh and Lilly is still exhausted, so you might want to spend a turn camping to recover that. Otherwise, she needs to be carried back to the town (or at least to the surface)

Arvin places his old, battered staff against a wall, wondering if the next people to come to this tomb might find it still here...Khat branch staffs are much better, though...

Action: Arvin discards his old staff. Use both hands to carry the Armoire with anyone, really. We'll have to dismantle it when we get to the entrance and pass it up branch by branch...then, bind it back up when we get to the surface. Save all those old bindings and rotted cloth, we'll need them.

Put a comb and the largest piece of intact pottery (it could hold a little liquid) in my satchel.

Stuff my tobacco pouch inside my lucky boot. It's the left one. Place the rest of the pottery in my belt slot, then.

((OOC: Btw, what use is a spellbook for me again? With no arcana skill? I wanna zap that thing away...please refund me for not explaining WTF with it to do in the first place.))

All that sounds good. And yeah you'll get the refund if you don't want the spellbook. Technically you need the spellbook to cast Scholar-type spells, but since you don't have Arcanist it is of no use to you.

Do me a favor and everyone just post their character sheets with the updated inventory and I can check it against what I have.
