go refill on Rations and Oil. Back to where I was before the first one, except 1 more oil.

Did you buy a backpack or satchel, because I made a mistake earlier when I stated you couldn't wear the backpack, Iron Armor only takes up 1 slot, so you're good. Backpacks cost 3 RP, however and you don't have enough RP after the above purchases (7 - 5 = 2), 4 from the items, 1 for the inn. You can buy a satchel though.

Also, you can buy sacks (don't know if I mentioned this) which take up 1 slot when empty, and must be carried by both hands when full (one hand, when half-full). They can hold 6(!) slots. They also cost 1 RP to buy.

Evelyn wanders over to the group as well.

Arvin scratched his chin.

"...We're full as is, Evelyn, though I will defer to the majority vote of my teammates. In my opinion, you can only split a loaf of bread so many ways before everyone goes hungry. And there's no guarantee we'll even see any bread.

That being said...

I do have two more leads on quests you might pursue on your own, or with others, jobs we decided to pass on for now-I can assure you I've found they are concrete leads to definite places, though everything else is a mystery. I'll provide my findings to you, at a fair cost...no more than I paid for them. {1 RP for both}."

"One of the jobs tracks to a place that's not too remote-you need not even take the journey alone. It would be less dangerous for just one person. Still, there are many who would join such efforts-I've built up my own networks over the years...friends and allies. I cannot give you much advice except to ask around...through greed or virtue, you can build your own connections.

Then again, going alone will mean you need not share any rewards you earn. It's up to you."

"Hmm... Well, I'll pay you for the details and contract on that job, and see if I can get a party assembled for that."

Give 1 RP.

Arvin nods, taking her clinking bag of silver in his left hand, and making it vanish into his clean white robes with a a charlatans flourish.

...

He organizes his sheath of papers and begins speaking, and showing them to her.

"Our own quest is taking us to the Tomb of Queen Zdeska...back into the valley of the dead...you may be fortunate to avoid it, surely..." he says. "The other two jobs are yours for the taking...I'll make you a copy of either map, or both if you like.

We decided against the fortress at Angar-we believe we currently lack the equipment to brave the North, in truth-but the Labyrinth seems right up your alley. An easy journey, relatively-made by many thousands of pilgrims every year. I made it once myself, to see the beauty of the tomb...it's as safe as one could hope in these days, though not without it's own perils. The problem then would be finding the Labyrinth, one hidden in plain sight likely, and hoping it remains unlooted and unfound after all this time. You may wish to do additional research on this Guru yourself. It would probably provide many helpful clues.

Of course, you could brave the Ice Fortress if you gathered more about you. It's...certainly tempting, isn't it? Who knows what you could find...the more remote, the less chance it's been visited by anyone else. Though, usually for good reason."
He says, nibbling at a honey-cake, and sipping dark mead from his tankard.

((All right, I guess Urist isn't saying anything else. Before I do a ready check, can I get a list of medical supplies Bahihs? I have a little more coin to spend now.))

Later, Arvin has finished counting his coins...

"Well, I believe I'm ready to go-I just need to see what the last of my coin will purchase me in healing supplies. Logan, Astra-you mind coming along? You've still got coins on you, as well. It's a poor healer like me to be so ill equipped. Throwing some into the pot should even us all out nicely in regards to our party cots...and, I don't want another person to be crippled on my watch. Might be we could avoid that." He says.

Action: Go shopping for basic medical supplies to pad my kit.

((All right, I guess Urist isn't saying anything else. Before I do a ready check, can I get a list of medical supplies Bahihs? I have a little more coin to spend now.))

Action: Go shopping for basic medical supplies to pad my kit. Drag Logan along because I need his money!

A basic first aid kit costs 2 RP and contains things like bandages, anti-septic, sutures, a compress and coagulant salves. In game terms it takes up 2 slots, has 3 uses and increases any doctor check by +1

A doctors bag costs 4 RP and contains all of the above, in addition to: pain-killers (in the form of local anesthetic creams, and a poultice of mixed analgesic herbs), surgical kit (with various sharp implements and a hand-cranked bone-saw), anesthetics (full body, in the form of ground mushroom powder that is snorted), collapsible splints and plaster powder for making casts. In game terms, it takes up 2 slots, must be worn (i.e cannot be put into another bag), has 5 uses and increases any doctor check by +2. Also has other roleplaying and specialized uses depending on what is used. It also has pockets, giving it 2 free slots. Finally, it can be restocked for 1 RP (first aid kit must be re-bought every-time)

Buying any thing contained within these kits, individually, will take up one slot, have 1 use and cost 1 RP. And will not have any effect on doctor skill except when the check is relevant to the item.

"Eh, I'm not much of an herbalist. But sure, I'll come with you. Least I can do is use what's left of that silver crown to help you get restocked." Logan stood up from the table and made a sort of 'after you' gesture with his left hand.

((Humm, tough choice. Doctors bag is more cost efficient and useful, but it takes up your torso slot unless you want use both your hands...

We're really going to need buy a mule or something next time to carry that.

Also, what about poison and disease cures? You mentioned when Lily lost her leg I blew it because I didn't have rabbits blood. Remember? That terrible, nightmarish sequence...when you blamed me...for not being prepared...))

(( Was there any blame flying around? I don't really remember blaming anyone, just stating what you needed. Perhaps you blame yourself? :P ))

Poison and disease cures are specialized items and you have to buy them individually. Be warned, in the case of antidotes, they can be expensive (2 RP/vial - with 2 uses). Diseases can be cured using the Doctor skill alone, unless its some sort of horrific "rare" disease, in which case the only cure is probably magic (or death :P). Rabbits blood works for most venom-based poisons (spiders, snakes, etc.) that affect the nervous system, and is very cheap (1 vial with 5 uses = 1 RP), but does not treat ingested, or inhaled poisons or venom that affect other body systems. The latter costs a lot to treat because the only known way to make antidotes is from the venom itself, which is quite rare. And as you found, quite dangerous to acquire.
