Calista withdraws another razor-edged javelin from behind the shield in her off-hand and prepares to toss it.

Action: Prepare to lob another Javelin at whatever comes out of the portal

So you ready you action, Mary does as well, ((i am making an assumption for Carric so we can progress))

archer 7 get off his butt.

A giant spiders appears where the last one was

A Javelin fly, whispers are hear, arrows rain and a bolt fly, (6+4+3) (?) (11+3) (Critical) (11+3) ( 10+3) (2+3) (18+3) (Critical)
The spider is assaulted  (7 + 0 + 2 + 9 + 2 + 3 + 9 = 32) damage. The spider falls to the ground, still alive but bearly. It only can only move 10 feet now.

No change to map

Next turn

((Lol, probably the guard...I suppose summoning a spider into the middle of the town would have alerted them...))

Calista felt no need to approach such a dangerous enemy if it could safely finished off at range-though her warriors blood called for direction action, Halmyr told her to remain cautious...

Action: More Javelins!

Attack +4 (+1d4 blessed bonus)
Damage 1d6+2

Carric lowers his crossbow by a fraction of an inch to look over at Calista.

"Why is it that you just decide to stumble drunkenly into the night, and happen upon some spider portal?"

He looks back down the sights again and Fires a bolt when it comes around to his turn.

"Is the term "normal" not present in your vocabulary or something? I'd assume it'd have no real use."

At this point, he couldn't quite care about the corniness of his spellcasting. Maybe it was the booze.

"I'm not drunk...the power of Halmyr! Leads me where I need to go! He intended for me to be here, to stop this...admittedly poor...threat to the city." She says, watching four dozen Drow step out of the portal.

Ugh, too much wine.

On second thought, cast Shield of Faith on Calista. ((If that only works for personal use, and I misread it, then shoot Drow 4))

Calista watched as Carric began his own spell.

"...Hey, that's a shield of faith spell! What Deity do you profess to believe in, anyway? We might have some sort of celestial boundary issues here."

((OOC: Also, it's legal

of your choice within range, granting it a +2 bonus to AC

((ummm, you can do both, Sheild of Faith takes a bonus action to be cast so you still have time to shot drow 4))

((Awesome! Thank you for siting that.))

"Still trying to figure that out myself! But I've figured out how to heal and protect, so I doubt it's an evil one."

He thought back to the glowing corn cob of spider slaying.

He really needed to figure out where this power was coming from.

Then shield of Faith Calista, watch drow 4 keel over from retroactive damage overload syndrome, and shoot Drow 2

"Are you sure it's even a God? I mean, you could be an avatar of Solopsism-you believe so strongly that you got powers from a God that you invoked your own dormant powers! You thought you found a God...but, the God was you all along!" Calista reasons, using drunk logic.
