 You and steel go to aurel's for dinner a few hours after dinner would be normally served. you can wear what ever you want. Steel is wearing better cloths then you originally found him in. The dinner is nothing specail. Mostly veggie dishes and only a few meet. A chicken stew.

You are in a relatively small dinning room to what you think you would be in. it is tastefully designed and decorated in such a way to make it feel wealthier then it actually.

"Honestly? I don't see much use for them. Half of them are stricken with vampirism and the other half I'm surprised didn't get eaten by them. Plus, their loyalty wouldn't be too good to let them go as laborers, as they did kidnap your son from what I understand.

You seem much more... Generous towards people who wronged you. You'll have to forgive me for being struck dumb with your action on hiring them as staff, especially with their past nature. Something tells me that you're not going to let several vampires and ignorant cultists tend your farms or dust your furniture."

 "Well you see, if jack is living here as a vampire, he will need night servants which what better servants then vampiric people. Also, from my research if a vampire makes a vampire spawn, the spawn is of the control of the maker whether they like it or not. So as a source of food for Jack, we can keep some human but the others can be made into spawn to be night servants. My biggest problem is getting this past the council. Undead aren't common around here so obviously they get attacked on sight. I don't want to try and convince my son the new vampire is not a risk to the city. Specially not with Noble east. That bald headed bastard."

Aurel takes a sip of his wine,

((Thanks! That would sound good, but he's lived in the forest his entire life; he doesn't know what a library is. My thought was that he'd explore the city, trying to understand this alien world. He will almost certainly stumble on some customs he finds strange/abhorrent, like zoos/circuses.))

[color= Maroon]" figured as much. The council isn't much to worry about. Each noble find 5 people they would be happy with and the people vote for the ones they way. The catch, only 2 of each of the nobles picks can get in. So the  balance of favor is never weighted. The mayor gets to pick the last 2, some times via an election or he just says so. I can honestly say that council are boring mundane people. Nothing over special about any of them. The only special rule for the council members is that they get spread out all over the city. this way they can't easilly talk with each other out side of meetings. and they can be more intune with the people.

There are 5 nobles. Noble North, he is money. A normal merchant who make good money with the guild help making trade routes and agreements. Noble East, justice is his game. He is brought in to administer justice to the people. he some times causes an uproar letting a killer goes but he isn't one to mess with. And me, Noble South. I am death, I have an over fascination with it and the magic with it.I am the Evil as you will. I pretty much know all the bad doing in teh city, or actually the incoming and out going of it. I got wind of you after you got here. Shadow thieve's huh? Noble west is Power, when ever we need to really fight back against something he is the one to lead. And lastly, Noble food. He is responsible with making sure every one gets feed. He Lives in the Artistian's district. One thing we don't have is food problems. Any other question?"[/color]

I kill who needs to be killed, and usually they deserve it. Very few occasions that innocents are killed, like the goblin on the road. But given that back in Athkatla where the main branch of the guild is located, goblins are vicious and almost as bloodthirsty as orcs. If you have something they want, they will take it. I was surprised the ones I brought here had emotion to begin with. Truthfully, I don't care much for politics, but its always good to know who's who.

A couple questions and that will be the end of it:

The first: what is known about the mayor? He seems... Overwhelmingly friendly. I know he tried courting me on my first day in town like a cheap whore, but I feel as if his kindness towards the entire group was a little too welcoming to us. I don't know what kind of prophecy we have to fulfill, but it seems that unless it was foretold that the group will meld and change, I'm starting to doubt the legitimacy of it."

Aurel laughs "He was kind because he likes the spectacle of future telling. And there is no prophecy, just some magic that can see what could happen. But he has always been into exotic races, I would wager if he could he would have sex with a succubus or an angle. Trust me, that man has a sex drives that rivals horses.  Let's just say, some great wine, a comfy bed and beautiful moon light can cause some unexpected results."

Jack sudenly bursts in with blood dripping on his chin "Oh god please don't remind me. I really wish my room was not above yours dad. I don't like being privy to all your encounter or problems. And can we hurry up. I may got enternity but I rather not wait."

steel start talking in a loud voice "What is wrong with you people? how are you all okay with this? He is a vampire, a fearsome creature of the night who can kill  hundreds with out a problem. A creature who feeds on the blood of others. a creature who is been labled evil on sight forever. A creatue who's evil present is said to kill plants and turn animals hostile. How is this okay? I am not saying he is bad but he has gained powers. Who knows what he could do?"

Aurel looks as steel with a bit of pity. but jack replies "Boy, I understand what you are saying but here is the special thing about me. I still have a soul. The one problem with the way the method the leader used was that is didn't kill me. It mearly changed my body. To all mean i am dead but I can feel it inside that i still have a soul"

steel seems pacified by this. jack said "lets go down stairs"
