We obviously want to go for the grand capital. If we win, we'll earn Dagger's respect and the fear of their tribes and bunnies.
We will DIE against space marines. Have you ever played Space Marine? A single captain of a mere two centuries service destroyed hundreds of orks with little effort all by himself. (Being part of the greatest chapter of them all may have had something to do with it, though.) We'll need a WAAAGH! if we're ever gonna have a chance of taking it which is impossible seeing as all the other tribes are led by robots.
Just as a novice Tau Fire Warrior can slaughter Space Marines, Chaos Obliterators and a Lord of Change all on his lonesome.
The novel made it clear he was being empowered by Khorne himself.
That doesn't make sense. Neither thematic (Tau don't get chaos'd,) nor common (he was fighting against a chaotic plot the whole time.) Although I guess if any chaos god would decide to randomly kill fellow Chaos forces, it'd be Khorne. (Though Tzeentch comes a close second for diamertically opposite reasons)

What makes it even odder is that at one point the Novel!demon is being empowered by Khorne. So not only is Khorne interfering with a chaos plot he is interfering with himself.

The book adds a lot of stuff that the game doesn't have. In the game, there is no empowerment by Khorne, nothing like that. You're just a lone fire warrior and you kill the shit out of everything you encounter, ending with a battle against a Lord of Change. In the book, the final battle is actually K'ais and the sapce marine guy blow up a few shrines and then a battlesuit team blasts the demon (not a lord of change, but just a demon of chaos undivided).

I guess it depends on which you see as "canon." The book and the game aren't really compatible.

So the dokboy is a nob? That'll be necessary...

Get two orks. Get the nobdok to stitch them together back-to-back. Their spines must meet together so we can hold it. The orks must remain alive. Thus, the One True Orky Shield shall be made....because it's literally made of orks. Plus they can still swing their arms around and hopefully hit something.

Wait for the nob and the weirdboy to get back. If they don't, send some grots to loot the corpse(s).

BEGIN THE ASSAULT! WAAAGH!
If the weirdboy gets back, do the human skin plan.
If they don't, grotapult as many grots with shootas over the walls so they can take the gate and shoot from the roofs. Grotapult the gate with some explosives attached.
Charge in!
Simultaneously, we'll send a random nob and a group of orks to stealth their way through the sewers (painted purple, of course) and attack the humans while they're distracted by our frontal assault. It'll be their job to take the keep before they can reinforce it but after they've sent the bulk of their soldiers to fight us. After that, they are to attack the frontline troops from behind.

(Tau don't get chaos'd,)
Actually yes they do, though it's very rare for it to happen due to their small warp presence.

What makes it even odder is that at one point the Novel!demon is being empowered by Khorne. So not only is Khorne interfering with a chaos plot he is interfering with himself.
Maybe he was feeding his daemons to protagonist guy so that he'd be powerful/skilled enough to kill the Lord of Change? Just as planned, perhaps? I've neither played the game nor read the book, by the way.

Apply Fire.
Just like the village, then? +1, though we should probably loot the place first.

The Lexicanum says no tau ever was. But they don't source it. And the closest I even got to a T'au source book was a primer in Dark Heresy. I'd love to hear about a corrupted t'au, especially if it's in a short story.

Les' burn these humies to da ground!

Fire warrior discussion: Tau don't just have a 'low warp presence', they are warp-null.  Tau cannot even enter the warp, that's why their ships 'dive' through subspace instead.  The demon possession described by fire warrior could not in fact happen, excepting GW's inability to actually commit to anything other than their profits.  (I have been a Tau player since GW launched the line.)

But then, only one Sister of Battle has ever been corrupted, except for all the others. Expecting consistency is, in fact, a zero sum game.

Why can't they enter the warp? Space hulks can, and they're inanimate chunks of rock, ship and metal. In fact, entering the warp is done through mechanical means. They just don't have navigators or Geller fields, I think, so they don't enter very deep. They skim the edges the of Warp. Slower, but safer.

Of course it changes up with new codexes because GW can't leave well enough alone so either of us might be outdated.

Tau cannot enter the warp because they are null, they are incompatible with the warp. period, end of line, do not pass go.  They fully understand geller fields, etc.  But the Tau themselves cannot physically enter the warp.  As for why hulks etc. can enter the warp, you are discussing a setting where 'machine spirits' exist (a ghost in the machine, formed from random impressions left by the intelligent living entities that utilize them).  Since Tau are null, they leave no psychic imprint on their machines, so unless it's crewed by humans or other psy-positive entities (and outfitted with the requisite equipment) their artifacts can't even enter the warp.

You see the painboy nob already hard at work, hammering away at his duties. Or an ork. Same thing. You place an order for a kustom orky shield, made of orks! He happily obliges. You lose 10 Teef!

Waiting by the Drops, you can see an ork struggling to climb using two daggers. A weirdboy is casually floating beside him as they rise together. By the time they reach you, the nob is breathing heavily while the weirdboy takes in all the fresh air.

He eyes you strangely. You look nothing like the old boss.

You throw a lump of human skin, and without any hesitation at all the weirdboy starts wearing it. You can't tell if it'll work; all humies look the same to you.

COMPARISON:

With your devious and cunning plan set, your grotapults ready and your stupid gretchin peeing their loincloths, you are finally ready to begin the siege. The travel there will take approximately three days on foot. There are three towns on the way with multiple minor villages each. You have 300 or so orks, says the weirdboy (since he can sense all of them), uncountable gretchin, snotlings and squigs, and three grotapults.

Go through the villages and avoid the towns. It's important to attack the city as soon as possible, but we'll need to do some fighting in between then and now plus it'll be a good opportunity to get more skin. EDIT: Gotta feed the shield and give it something to fight as well. Soon, our shield will be the biggest and strongest shield.

Make sure that all humie corpses are disposed of. Either have the gretchin eat them or bury them somewhere far away. Then leave everything standing like a ghost town so that no one knows we were here. Element of surprise would be AWESOME!

Orks don't really bury bodies, but the corpses would make a decent snack on the way. The only thing that can deliver news to the city faster than we'll get there are horses, but squigs should easily be able to take them down. Speaking of squigs, maybe it would be a good idea to send some messangers on squigs to other ork tribes and tell them about the upcoming attack?
