The main reason I wanted to join this was for the solo opportunities. Ispil is unlikely to work with anyone unless he sees a reason for it.

If my manipulations are successful enough they will be a party without even realizing they are a party.  Otherwise I'm not living up to the title of mastermind.
I guess we'll just have to be rival deceivers.

I find it funny how you've both chosen to go deception-orientated characters with two other players who it likely isn't going to work on. Ispil prefers to work alone if it's pragmatic enough, and FD's character doesn't look like he's gonna be interested in socializing all that much.

Still, those poor, poor NPCs. Bloody Changelings and Rogues.

Oh, and Dwarmin, with a skill like insight I was thinking that you just roll it without telling us whenever we might learn something from it (or use it like Passive Perception or something, Passive Insight). I'm not sure how good an idea this is, but I feel like it might make the game more interesting. I mean, otherwise there's no reason to not ask you to insight roll every time one of us meets an NPC. :v

FIFY

But in all seriousness, 4e had Passive Insight, one of its decent/better, if redundant, features, IMHO. I'd be for that. I might even steal that.

Insight has always felt like more of a passive thing to me anyway...

W for Ker.

And you know, there are purposes for secret actions other than PKing. Mostly for evil characters getting their torture kicks in on the side or rogues poaching loot, but y'know, it's the principle of the thing.  :P

Blaaaargh, screw living on the other side of the world. I'll be able to stay up night tomorrow night and the night after, but I really have to go to bed now. I've already pushed it extremely far.

If you want to advance things Dwarmin, just assume that my character does whatever is necessary to survive.

We won't be carrying around your matched luggage or industrial-strength hair dryer, just so you know.

Earl... There was something not quite right about him. He had no idea what it was, but it felt weird.
Ispil has every reason to be somewhat weirded out: Earl is the closest that Nigma has found to the perfectly average form. Nigma spent the better part of a year wandering, gathering some cash and disguises for the trip to the New World. The Real Earl was a simple farmhand, unremarkable in every way. Nigma slowly got close to him, disguised as a common milkmaid, with a fiery and occasionally violent streak. Earl fell in love with Nigma, but during a dispute that Nigma artificially caused, Nigma knocked him into a brazier of hot coals, after an arranged accident with a pot of oil drenching Earl. Earl became horribly disfigured after that incident, and Nigma quietly left town after.
Nigma would have just stolen Earl's face, but he wanted to be certain that there were no loose ends, and so replaced in people's minds Earl's old face with a radically different one.

Ah, that's a nice reason for justification if what you mean is that he's almost perfectly average appearance-wise, but I'll also write down why I decided to mention that Early was a bit off despite being seemingly more perceptive than my character should actually be at the moment. In the current situation Earl's normality actually makes him stand out more than he would otherwise. Ker and the Halfling obviously have something up with them, Ispil knows of his own situation and that leaves the seemingly normal Earl as the black sheep.

Nigma is trying to hide like a tree in a forest, but all the forest is made of glass and platinum, so to speak.

Well, I assume that there are normal people aboard this ship, so it's more like trying to be a tree in a normal forest, but Nigma's in a grove of glass and platinum trees.

Yeah, that's probably a better analogy.

By the way, Dwarmin, do you have access to the DM's Guide and Monster Book, or will you be making up monsters and magical items based on your proficiency and experience?

No and no, so I'm mostly doing three things.

~Using the monsters/items that are available online in various free guides.
~Using monsters/items from older editions of D&D, updated for 5th edition.
~Remixing my own monsters/items from all available sources.
