There is a house with four walls. In each wall there is a window. Each window looks south. What color is the bear outside?
That one's too well known.

I have a body of wood, yet sinewy muscles and horns of great strength

What am I?

I assume war.

On second thoughts, I didn't provide much. It was rather botched. I'll elaborate.

I have provoked discussion throughout the ages. Many alterations on me have arisen, yet no one can agree on me. I am an excuse for the starting of wars, fights, slaughters and genocide since humanity first began to think that bashing people's heads open was a bit off.

There. It's pretty easy now, maybe too easy.

Religion.

A tree doubled in height each year until it reached its maximum height over the course of ten years. How many years did it take for the tree to reach half its maximum height?

Religion.

I really am bad at this. It's not that, or war, but it could just as easily be.

An opticians?

Wrong.

The answer to my riddle is one that I am sure that everyone here knows of. Some of you may go there almost everyday, everyone else - I'm sure - has been there at one time in their life.

The house is on the center of the geographic north pole. The bear would most likely be white, either because it is a polar bear or because some other bear is there and is covered in snow.

But it could legitimately be any type of bear. As even a polar bear is rare at the geographic north pole.

Riddle: The roof of the house of knowledge.

Other than if it's something like the brain / mind I'm not sure on that one.

Not a riddle, but nine years.

For some I go fast
for others I'm slow.
To most people, I'm an obsession
relying on me is a well practiced lesson.

What am I?
