Right, time for a classic!

I am blue, of sea and sky,
In the eyes of passers by,
Beneath the ground,
I run thick,
And round tree trunks,
I do stick

Water/moisture?

I grow not leaves,
I spread not roots.
Yet of all things,
I bear sweetest of fruits.

Hmmm...  That one looks a bit short to be recognizable.  Best I could come up with at the moment though.

I'm intrigued by Kagus', but don't have an answer.

As promised, the solution to the dance competition:
Beorn was close, in suggesting it was a specific kind of dancing.
Likewise Tayrin for thinking there was something different about the man.

The man is a dwarf (the real-world, little person kind), and the competition is limbo dancing.

The answer is clearly children, and the many years of joy they will bring you.

Sweet and sticky,
Lightning fast,
But if you lick me,
I will not last
What am I?

I was thinking more along the lines of the actual womb, but I suppose that works.

As for your own, I'm currently assuming it's some kind of candy that has something to do with speed in its name.  I have no idea what the candies these days are, so I can't say for sure.

And nothing that kids naturally produce should really be considered all that tasty either.

Anyways, I know I haven't answered the last one, but I just thought up this little shiny bit and thought I'd share it.  It's a bit obscure, but those are always the fun ones, eh?

Cut off my head, and I am a gentle lamb.
Cut off my tail, and I remain as I am.
What am I?

Yeah, I'll have to say lion, too. Maybe a snake? A worm?

With pointed fangs it sits in wait,
With piercing force its doles out fate,
Over bloodless victims proclaiming its might,
Eternally joining in a single bite.
What am I?

It sounds so much like 'a vampire' that it must be a trick.

Not a lion (?), not a snake, not a worm.  Not, in fact, an animal.

Or a plant, if you were wondering.
